Chapter 24: The Haunting

As I saw my F/C Aura flare to life, I dived behind the nearest tree, Noire and the others gave me a funny look as my Aura dissipated

"What are you planning?" Penny asked, I smirked

"Well, at the moment, they all think I'm dead." I said, the others seemed to realise where I was going with this,

"You haven't changed, have you, friend Y/N?" She said, I smiled

"Of course not 'friend' Penny, she chuckled and I began to focus, I decided to copy Emeralds Semblance, my Aura burst out once more, this time I used my newfound illusions to hide it, I smirked at the others, Obsidian giggled, while Penny just smiled, Noire let out a long sigh

"Just, don't go to far with them okay?" She said

"No promises." I responded, Noire rolled her eyes as I turned myself invisible to everyone around me, trying to ignore the headache that was developing, I made it up to the campfire and looked around, let's see, Jaune, no upgrade sadly, Ren and Nora, still not together dammit, Pyrrha? Isn't she meant to be-oh that's right, I 'died' instead, and Ruby, the gangs all here, I smirked as I walked up behind Jaune

"Jauuuuuuuuunnneeee..." I whispered in my ghostliest voice, Jaune seemed to jump up

"Y/N!?" He cried, everyone stared at him

"Jaune, Y/Ns...gone, remember?" Ruby said, I actually noticed something was off about Ruby, she was wearing different clothes from what she should have been, it was mostly the same, but above the shirt was a black and red jacket that stretched just to the top of her stomach, she also had two armoured bracelets to go with it, aww Ruby, you took inspiration from me and Neo, that's nice

"I swore I could've just heard him!" Jaune says, Ruby glared, eyes sparkling

"Jaune! The dead don't just come back to life! If he was here, this would've been glowing!" She said, gesturing to her necklace, I simply couldn't pass up on the opportunity, creeping over my necklace started to react to hers, everyones face went pale

"Ruby, your..."Pyrrha said, gesturing to her neck, Ruby looked down to see her necklace glowing, I leant down next to her ear

"Ruuuuuuuuubyyyyyyyyy..." Ruby suddenly shivered and turned to where she thought my voice was coming from, I saw tears in her eyes

"Y-Y/N?" Everyone seemed to look scared now, I whispered again

"It won't be long now, I'll see you sooooon..." I could sense the fear coming from her, I quietly walked back to where my team had set up camp, ending the illusion they looked to me

"You did the whole 'oooh I'm a ghost' thing didn't you?" Noire asked, raising her arms enthusiastically as she did so, I nodded and we stayed there in silence for a few seconds, before we burst into quiet laughter

"G-g-good one Father!" Obsidian barely managed to say between guffaws, after a few minutes, we all got down and got some sleep. As the sun rose upon us, we groggily got out of bed, after allowing ourselves to wake up properly I checked on Ruby and JNPR, they were packing away their camp quickly, they seemed scared, Pyrrha accidentally dropped a pan behind Jaune, Jaune leapt three feet into the air into Pyrrhas arms

"I'm sorry!" Pyrrha said, holding Jaune close to her, I smiled and headed back to the others, once I arrived I told them the plan that I come up with

"You want us to just leave you?" Noire said in disbelief, I nodded

"Right now, keeping up the illusion that I'm dead is top priority, I want you guys to join up with Ruby and head for Haven, okay?" Noire sighed, she knew she wouldn't be able to change my mind on this, Obsidian came up to me
