Chapter 7

Camila's POV

Annoyed at my mother and frustrated at myself for liking Lauren so much, I texted Ariana to inform her of the disaster that my life had become in such a short time. With my dad gone for a few days, I'd basically be in a tense environment at home, so I needed to find a way to spend my days away from my mother.

Camila: [Text] Baby! I need you ASAP. You won't guess what happened.

Ariana: [Text]I know something happened with Lauren because she called me, and she was an anxious mess. What did you do?!

Camila: [Text] You have no idea. We kissed.

Ariana: [Text] OMG you kissed?!

Camila: [Text] Yes that's what I said dumbass. But that's not even the worst part.

Ariana: [Text] Don't tell me you did it!

Camila: [Text] NO gosh. I also kissed Dua Lipa last night. After I saw her making out with Harry.

Ariana: [Text] Uhhh WHAT??! They were making out? I THOUGHT HARRY WAS GAY??

Camila: [Text] He is and he has a boyfriend, but they said they were practicing or some crazy shit

Ariana: [Text] Girl omg they're weird af BUT you kissed two hot girls in 24 hours I'm a proud mom

Ariana: [Text] Do you like Dua??

Camila: [Text] She's hot

Camila: [Text] But shut up bitch I'm not done with the crazy story

Camila: [Text] I got home and my mom went all crazy on my ass because duh, I disappeared all night. But she prohibited me to be near the Jauregui family after talking bad about Lauren like she knew her. I'm now sure she's hiding something.

Ariana: [Text] Wtffff is she having an affair with Lauren's dad or something?

Camila: [Text] I don't think she is, but she might have in the past

Ariana: [Text] Okay, we have to find out. Meet me at the park in 20?

Camila: [Text] Got it, I'll find a way to escape x

I changed into something fresher as the day was hot and I sneaked out of the house before my mom could stop me. I went to the park near my building to meet Ariana right in front of the food vendors. I saw her sitting on one of the tables, so I approached her and hugged her with almost desperation. I was an emotional wreck at the moment.

"I'm so glad to see you again. It has been an eventful weekend." I sighed sadly before sitting down. Ariana held my hand with a pout.

I could tell she felt bad for what happened with my mom. Even though my mother and I didn't have the closest relationship, the idea of my parents divorcing still made my stomach twirl. We had always lived together, and it was the perfect family balance. My dad would allow me to do most of the things I wanted without paying too much attention, but my mom was the opposite. Yes, sometimes it was really helpful to be able to do whatever I wanted, but it also felt very lonely when my dad didn't really ask where I was or if I was okay when I didn't arrive at home on time.

"Tell me about it, Lily kept me up all night." Her words brought me out of trance of thoughts.

"How is she doing? I feel so bad for her." I really did, and I hoped she didn't find out about that crazy kiss situation that happened between Lauren and I earlier that day because it wouldn't help her at all.
