I trapped my foot impatiently on the hard floor, waiting for my buffoon of a best friend to make his way out of his N.E.W.T. class.
It's been a very long day, and the last class of the day went by exceedingly slow. I heard professor Slughorn say his farewells to his students as the door flew open. He always held classes after if he wasn't done rambling.
"What's wrong, Winters? Waiting for your little blood traitor Weasley?" Said Malfoy, with that ridiculous smirk plastered on his face.
Ron had finally came out of the classroom. I crossed my arms and scoffed at Malfoy. "Well, I wasn't waiting for you Malfoy." I spat at him.
He leaned up against the wall. "I wasn't implying you were." He smirked once more "But, I didn't have to imply anything, you did that yourself." I shot a glare at him. He looked at Ron, scoffed, and then quietly turned to the hall that he came from.
"Well," Ron spoke up, clearing his throat. "What was that all 'bout?" He looked a bit uneasy as I glared at the back of Malfoy's head.
"You know how Malfoy is." I groaned fixing my robes. I reluctantly began walking to the Slytherin common room.
Ron, realizing I left without him, caught up to me. "You know, I really think it was a mistake," I gave him a questioning glance. "How you were sorted into Slytherin, I mean." He stammered, looking around.
I let out a much needed sigh. "What's done is done. I don't think it was a mistake." I shrugged my shoulders at the statement he makes every year, and started walking faster. Ron gave me a confused look.
"Don't think it was a mistake huh?" He scratched his head and squinted his eyes. "I just, can't imagine you having any similarities with Malfoy. Or anyone in Slytherin for that matter."
I started to get slightly annoyed at him as we arrived at the common room. I gave him a serious look. "Maybe the sorting hat thought I was needed in Slytherin." I smiled to myself, believing that was the reason.
"Well, I think you were supposed to be placed in Gryffindor. That hat could be faulty for all we know." He fixed my scarf, that was hearly falling off my neck. "I think you're faulty " I laughed, mocking him, He laughed with me.
I waved goodbye to Ron as I walked to the common room entrance. "Pure blood." I muttered hurriedly. The door swung open and I sat myself on a nearby sofa and I started on my DADA homework.
"Don't you know, that's my seating, Winters." I groaned loudly. Nearly two minutes in the common room, and Malfoy was already at it. He sat next to me, that stupid smirk on his face.
"Come to make my life a living hell already Malfoy?" I said, sarcastically. He laughed out loud and put his feet up on the table. (Where my books were, mind you.)
"If I chose to make your life a living hell, you'd be lower than the house elves." He laughed at his own remark, I scoffed at him. He stopped laughing to look me up and down. "And what are you doing with Weasley again?" He referred to Ron like he had smelled something dreadful.
He narrowed his eyes at me, while I continued with my work. "I don't believe that is any of your business." I said, as a matter of fact. He smirked and closed his eyes.
"Don't suppose it is," he paused, and gave me a strange look, a look I couldn't read. I fumbled with my quill and awkwardly cleared my throat. "Can't you just leave me to my work, Malfoy."
