As the weeks passed Mikasa and a random group of men was keep being sent to receive a lost treasure in dangerous places. Levi tried to go on as many of those missions with mikasa to keep an eye on her but Kenny would stop him on some saying he wasn't chosen to go. Mikasa would come back with sadness in her eyes since one or more of the crew would die each time making her the only survival or just one other person. 

Levi knew it was getting to mikasa that she couldn't protect the men who was sent with her and tried to cheer her up many times but as soon as he did so she be sent out again. Armin had his hands full with any survival that lived since they always came back nearly dead. Eren and Jean was sent to help Armin and to throw any bodies over the ship that died. Since many were near death anyway Kenny ordered to only help the ones that could survive instead of trying to save the dying and waste medic stuff. This broke mikasa more since the ones she did save would mostly like be left to die and then thrown over without Kenny caring. 

The mermaid was moved to his office and the only ones who got to see it was Kenny and mikasa. Mikasa was only able to see it since she was the only one allowed to enter his office and was mostly told about her next mission in his office. When half of the crew became dead the other men started to fear for their lives and the smarter ones escaped the boat by staying in the small towns. Some even jumped of the boat when another ship passed by and join that crew. 

Kenny was nearly out of men and made a stop to collect some in a poor town knowing he get tons of crew members since many needed a job in the town. Mikasa decided it was too dangerous for Armin, Jean and eren who was still kind hearted and could have a happy future in a town. The night before the town mikasa walked to the medic cabin with Levi not far behind her since he wanted to keep an eye on her and try to give her a break when he could. 

"cap, ready for your check over .. i want to changed your bandages" Armin said with a kind smile and mikasa just nodded before taking her top off leaving a her bra on and sat on his desk since the beds and floor was full. Levi looked at mikasa with horror as he saw all different scares over her body. Old and new was mixed together, all up her back, on her sides, her arms, her belly and even some on her neck. Levi could tell she had scars on her legs and hips since he noticed them when she went swimming and had to change in front of him. She still had her underwear on so she wasn't totally naked in front of him and he was also changing since it was during a mission and they had to camp in some woods but their clothes were soaked and needed drying. 

"boss said we be leaving all these men in the town, letting the people deal with them" eren said with a small frown since that meant they were leaving the injured crew to the Hungary and poor town mercy. "it might be a better ending then dying on this ship with a crazy boss" Jean hissed and they all nodded as Armin changed Mikasa bandage from a new wound she received in the last mission.

Levi wasn't allowed to join and couldn't heal her, he would heal her now but Armin saw the cut and he knew he cant heal it since it be too quick for a human and he could be found out. "i think you should worry more about the boss plans, he collect some many dangerous myths treasures for his own good" Levi said with worry as he knew a couple myths since even mermaids warned others about them.

"i want you three to stay in the town tomorrow, dont ever step on this ship again and dont ever work under my uncle again" Mikasa said with a frown as she put her top back on and the three boys stood in shock. "mikasa we cant just run, we knew its going to be dangerous but you still be stuck here" Eren said with worry. "i know but it wont end well for anyone, so please dont get back on this ship for my sake" Mikasa said with fear. "mikasa I'm the only doctor and if i leave then the boss would just leave the injured behind to die" Armin said with fear. "i know that and I'm prepared to carry that sin but you three must never return to this ship" Mikasa yelled back. "fuck that, we wont just leave you behind while your uncle sends the new crew to their deaths along with you until he found what he looking for" Jean hissed.

"as captain of this ship i order you Armin, Jean and Eren to never step foot on this ship again or else i will personally kill you" Mikasa ordered them a proud voice but disparate eyes. Jean, eren and Armin knew they couldn't fight back anymore since they didnt want their death to be on her hands. Mikasa used the one thing they couldn't argue over .. she used her power. "yes cap" the three boys said with tears and Mikasa saluted them one last time before leaving the room trying to stay strong.

"i promise to protect her no matter what, she wanted me to pass these to you after she left the room" Levi said with a small smile and passed three sacks. They all had a letter of ID and the reasons why other places should hire the boys. It had money, enough to buy their own house and food for half a year. It also a carved wood on a strong with the names, Mikasa, Levi, Eren, Armin and Jean. The boys smiled as Levi pulled his own out of under his shirt and they all placed their own on knowing mikasa had one.

"she promise to come find you all once this is all over" Levi smiled and passed them a note before leaving the room.

The three boys looked down to the note and found three address from the home island and it seemed mikasa already bought three houses for them all and a place they could start working. The tickets in their sacks showed for a boat to the island and they all grinned at how mikasa still cared for them while playing the bad guy.

"need a hug" Levi asked as he stood outside of mikasa room. Soon the door opened and he was pulled inside before she locked the door and hugged him. "they save now" Mikasa asked as the two just hugged sitting on her bed. "yes, they wouldn't die a worthless death thanks to you" Levi said in a soft voice. "you should go as well, My uncle will find out about you soon since you come back alive and i come back less inured then normal when we team up" Mikasa said with worry. "dont worry about me, i can hold my own" Levi smiled and Mikasa just dug her face into Levi chest more. "just dont die" was all mikasa said as the two slowly started to fall asleep in each other arms.
