About a month of school passed. We were now in October which meant basketball szn and i couldn't have been anymore happier.

I have been studying and applying to colleges because college applications were due by the end of next month.

Stephen and I didn't really talk much to each other. We would annoy each other here and there at times, but usually we just ignored each other.

I was in my first period which meant i had to see stephen.

He was already sitting in his seat before the bell rung.

'Wow, your actually on time for once.' i remarked as i sat down in my seat.

He turned around and placed his elbows on my desk and cupped his face in his hands.

I lifted up my left eyebrow.

'You know, mean is a really ugly color  on you.' He sassed.

'Takes one to know one.' I fired back as I pushed his arms off my desk.

'Alright class, settle down.' Mr Brown said.

About 15 minutes in, the class phone rang.

Mr Brown picked it up and then looked at my direction.

'I will send them up.' he said before hanging up.

'Hailey and Stephen. They need you both up to the office.' He said.

Students started to, 'ooooooh' as we both stood up. Me following after stephen.

'What did you do now, jack ass?' I hissed as we were walking down the hallway.

He simply rolled his eyes at me and stuck his hands in his front pockets. 

We finally reached the door to the office. Stephen swung it open.

'Ladies first.' He said.

'Then why are you still standing there?' I replied neutrally.

He rolled his eyes and waited for me to walk inside first.

'The principle will come see you now.' The head secretary said.

'Hailey and Stephen, you guys are not in trouble.' The principle started.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

'Are you sure? You know who's standing next to me, right?' I said.

I glanced at Stephen and he was glaring at me.

'On the contrary, Hailey you have kept an outstanding gpa! You will definitely have many colleges lining up considering your amazing athleticism here at Oakland High.' He gushed.

I felt my lips turn into a big smile.

'Stephen, you are doing well. But, just in your math you are struggling. I noticed you have a D in that class and that definitely won't get colleges attention. That D needs to be turned into an A. So I have decided to assign you a tutor.' The principle finished.

I glanced at Stephen and he looked annoyed and a little embarrassed.

'I feel bad for who's gonna have to tutor him.' I muttered to myself.

'Miss Hailey James will be your tutor.'

wait what?

Stephen burst out laughing.
