"Mother."
Margaret was startled by a voice calling her as she walked around in her room.
She looked up to find Juvia in her doorway.
"Kyle has been hurt. Is everyone else alright?" She asked her.
Margaret noticed the worry flashed across her face.
"Yes." She spoke, "But the intruders are not something for you to worry about," she added and forced a cracked smile.
"Have they been caught?" Juvia asked.
"Not yet. I'll take care of it."
Margaret was confused about what to do now, it frustrated her to the core. She was so close. She could have taken Juvias power, she finally would have been reunited with Jonathan.
"Like I said, Kyle is hurt. I'm gonna go look after him then." Juvia wanted to leave when Margaret spoke again, "Not so quick."
Juvia turned around and waited for Margaret to speak. Her kind eyes stared into her mothers but she didn't let herself be fazed. "If you do happen to meet one of them. Don't try to get with them in any combat or conversation," added Mar and walked off to her seat.
"Are they dangerous?" asked Juvia. "What are they after?"
Margaret rubbed her temples as she sat down, trying to figure out some quick lie. "Candy, they are after Candy."
"Why is that?"
"We don't know... but Candy has been attacked and deeply wounded," improvised Margaret.
"Oh no," Juvia gasped, "Will she be alright?"
"I guess." Margaret didn't show much interest in the fact that Kyle and Candy have been hurt - she figured they'd get out if it - but all of a sudden, she took a closer inspection upon her real child standing infront of her and wondered... why did Juvia seem worried for Candy?
Did she not remember she had hurt her herself?
How much damage had Clara actually done?
"Remind me, Juvia," Margaret sat up straight in her chair now.
"How long has it been since we've known eachother?"
Juvia looked confused.
"Uhm," She didn't know what to answer but then laughed. "Since like always, mother."
These words stung in Margarets chest as she saw her laugh. It reminded her of the same smile Jonathan wore so often. She pulled at her chains and held her breath. Relaxing, she smiled a little.
"Alright, you can go." she said.
Juvia turned around smiling sweetly, "I'm going to check on Clara. She must be sad about Candy," trailing off, she left the room.
Margaret stared at the huge door for a long time. Calculating what she should do now that Juvia was an open book.
Should she use Juvia for her advantage or take her powers?
She could come in handy though, Margaret thought, She might help us in getting rid of her friends.
Her friend are powerful mages though, she could use that kind of magic.
"If only I could lure them into the danguen." she thought out loud and decided to keep Juvia in sight for now.
She sighed.
