006: Quinten

I look outside the window as the plane ascends into the air, undergoing a mix of feelings that I can't seem to classify. Do I feel afraid? Nervous? A part of me thinks I feel excited, but how can someone feel excited after they basically got kidnapped?

But I know the choice I've made is only going to help my family and friends. I find myself tearing up at the thought of my parents, Bennett, Bailey, Bobby, Penelope, and Elijah.

Elijah. My heart begins to beat quicker and my throat clenches up. The thought of what we could have been after these next few months had started to haunt my mind since yesterday—since I've learned more than what I've ever wanted to know.

"You're the last Solare," Kofi, the dark-skinned girl, states. I'm still confused.

"I don't know what that is. I don't roleplay. Sorry."

Celestia, the girl with icy blue eyes laughs again, a sound that I'm becoming familiar with. "You'll learn more and more as time goes by, Libra."

"That's why I should go to school," I roll my eyes, fidgeting in my seat. I play with my turned-off phone, waiting for my captors to release me.

"Listen, Quinten," I raise my head with the sound of my name, confused as to how they know that too. The girl with freckles speaks up, "I understand that this all seems very confusing and unreal, but I promise that by coming with us today, your family and friends will be safe."

I sigh, "You don't know anything about my family. I still don't trust you."

The girls sigh too, and an awkward pause filled with silence pervades the car. That is until the last girl interrupts, "Christopher and Rae Quan. Business partners. Crazy rich Asian. You hang out with a very pretty Penelope Grace and one handsome Elijah Jacklins." Her feet were propped up on the dashboard, her hands behind her head.

I gulp, freezing at the names of my loved ones.

"And," she continues as I hold my breath in suspense, "you have a sister you don't know about."

"Who? The fu-"

"Her name is Sofira. Sofira Moretti."

"Huh? Who?!"

"Your sister you don't know about," she repeats, earning a glare from Celestia, "I just told you."

"What the hell Valentina?" Celestia rang, interrupting the girl in the passenger's seat, "We weren't supposed to reveal what we know about him."

I stay silent, wondering about what more they know about my life. The possibilities are endless.

Valentina turns back, "Yeah, well, he doesn't trust us at all so that should do the trick." She earns a grunt from Celestia, who tries to give me a reassuring smile. I look down again, keeping my body huddled together instead of manspreading across my seat.

"So if I go with you guys, my friends and family will stay safe?" I ask, quiet and vulnerable. I refuse to let myself cry, pushing down tears.

"Yes."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Where's the other boy?" I ask suddenly, waking up with a jolt. My body flies up, and another inch upward would lead to my head bumping into the ceiling. A nightmare surrounding the coffee shop plagued my sleep, and I'm sure I wouldn't be napping again anytime soon.
