A boy once asked a girl
"What do you think depression is like?"
The girl replied with "Probably a lot of pain and sadness."
"I guess you're right."
What she didn't say, was how it really felt
It's like drowning;
But so much slower.
Your heart eventually breaks.
You can't think straight.
Your mind is a mess.
Those little cuts you never saw?
That's one of the only ways to stop it.
I don't remember last night.
Drinking.
Pills.
Blades.
That's it.
You aren't the ruler of yourself anymore.
That's merely a dream now.
Depression is the ruler.
You're simply the victim.
