When they arrived at the cozy log cabin, Johnny gently turned the car off and they both climbed out. When Doyoung started to grab their bags however, Johnny placed a hand on his arm to stop him and slid his hand down to interlock their fingers nicely.

"Wait a second, I have a surprise for you inside." Johnny then led him up to the front door and carefully unlocked it. "Close your eyes, Doyoungie."

Johnny opened the door and helped Doyoung inside. Then he whispered into his ear, sending tingles down Doyoung's spine.

"Now open your eyes..."

Doyoung opened his eyes and lightly gasped at the sight. A creamy shade of gauze flowed to the floor from the ceiling, surrounding a small dark wooden table on which laid a single rose and a folded up note.

Doyoung walked up to the table and slowly picked up the folded paper. Instead of the more complex faces Johnny had drawn on the surface of the other notes, this one had a simple smile and heart to decorate it.

Upon opening it, Doyoung discovered that the message was a lot simpler too:

:) <3
Will you marry me?

His slowly growing smile quickly became a wide one as he read and reread the message over and over.

Grinning, he pulled the previous notes out of his pocket and turned to Johnny, waving them. "Why did you make this romantic? Why not just ask randomly like when you asked me to date you?"

Johnny laughed, a full-hearted laugh that he only used when with Doyoung. "Well, you just ruined the mood, so I guess I should ask again now that the mood is to your liking." Getting down on his knee, he pulled out a box and opened it, asking the beautiful question.

"Doyoung, as my best friend and lover, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"

"Of course you dummy. How could I say no? I love you too much not to."
