chapter4: explain yourself

[Colby p.o.v]

I watched as he finished up his plate of food placing the plate down on the desk. He was beautiful, smooth hairless skin beautiful decorated with beauty marks. Adorable dimples and beautiful eyes. He was so captivating. I must have been staring because he looked at me with a confused look.

" You alright there". He said with a slight chuckle.

" yeah I am fine". I said smiling back at him. Then my face went blank and decided to ask him.

" Jake what were you doing in the woods last night? " he looked at me confused on how to answer my question.

" I was......um.......I just..... " he stuttered out his words. I raised my eyebrows at him.

"I was running from these kids who bullied me in school. They followed me here. I go to this clearing that has flowers and stuff and I make flower crowns. They found me and they held me down as the leader of there group removed his pants and underwear. Then did the same to me. I was crying so much screaming and begging them to stop. Then something caught there attention and I got out of there grips and pulled up my pants as I was running. And the hours later you found me as I was still running from them and now I am here". He looked at me his face blank with no emotion showing. Not sure how to feel.

I looked at him with anger in my eyes. Those boys Would pay.
I opened my arms to him, he got up and walked over to me quickly. He sat on my lap i pulled him closer by his waist. Hoping that he knew that when he was with me he was safe.

[Jake p.o.v]

He pulled me closer and held me. I felt safe in his arms, like nothing in this world could hurt me. Like the world had no way to hurt me because they wouldn't make it past the arms of colby. I nuzzled closer into his neck sniffing the skin their his scent taking over my senses i cuddled closer to him.

I felt him lift my wrist, I removed my head from his neck so I could look at him. He lifted it to his nose and smelled the skin there, his eyes closed the entire time. He kisses my wrist, I place my head on his shoulder. He then licks that spot, and whines when I pull away from him moving to get up. I move back to the desk chair having a question of my own. I watched as he continued to pout because I moved away from him.

" now it's my turn to ask my question " I said as I fixed myself into a comfortable position. His face relaxed as he heard me speak.

"Ask away" he said moving back on his bed leaning against his head board.

"Why are you always smelling me? And why did you almost pounce on the boys? It was just a simple miss understanding" I looked at him sideways with a look of confusion and curiosity. He took a deep breath and looked down.

"I was hoping you wouldn't notice and that I would have more time to prepare for this conversation" he said huffing at the end.

"Prepare for what?" I said wanting to know more.

" ok let's try this out..... Now listen before I tell you any of this you need to promise to not stop me so I can get through this then you can ask me whatever you want". He said as he sat up and started me in the eyes.

"I promise." i said looking back at him with a smile.

"Alright so Jake when I found you your sent drove me towards you. But you smelled like another dominant male, and I didn't like it so I growled at you as I got closer I released my sent over you which would mark you as mine. Then when we got home after you fell asleep i put two and two together...... Your my mate....." He paused

"And yes i know it sounds absolutely crazy but it's true. That's why when they laughed at you I almost attacked them they made fun of an alphas mate and me and my wolf didn't like it. It was my alpha instinct to protect you." He said as he watched my shock expression.

" But that's not all, I figured you weren't human when I found you because your sent has a hint of fire. So I was trying to think and then it clicked your a fire Dragon. It makes a lot of sense. Anyway your my mate which means you are are my soulmate and that we are meant to be and that your the love of my life. " He looked at me with loving eyes.

"That should explain everything. " he finished as I looked at him absolutely full of questions.

"So what your saying is that I am a dragon and your soulmate?" I asked to which he nodded to.

" but how did you find me? " i said wanting to know he even found me in the first place.

" I was out for a run when your sent hit my nose as the wind blew in my direction and I followed the sent all the way to you" he said slowly so I would understand.

" how did you know I was your mate? " speaking in a low voice barely loud enough for anyone to hear.

"In an alphas mate sent it will drive the alpha nuts his wolf will go crazy over the sent and then the alpha know it's his mate." He says as he looks at me. Smiling at me.

"So what would happened if I denied wanting to be your mate?" His face fell when I said that. His eyes full of hurt, he slumped down from his position, he looked at me sadly.

"You dont want me?" He looked at me eyes full of hurt.

"No thats not what i meant i mean just if i so happened to not want mate with you what would happen?" I said trying to clear that up. He nodded in response.

" I would die. First I would be heart broken, then I would stop eating then I would die from rejection". He said slowly sadness filling his voice. I got up and walked over to him. I straddled his waist and put my arms around his neck, his hands flying to my waist to hold me looking me in the eyes.

"Well now, don't go dying on me. Little old me needs a strong alpha like you to protect me now don't I ?" I smile down at him as he looks at me with a smile on his face.

" yes you do little red. "He leans in closer and our lips touch. He kisses me and I kiss him back smiling.
