Sara

We were almost there when I noticed that the barn door was open.
"Guys, stay here. I'll be right back." I whispered as they all stopped.
"Sara, no! You could get hurt." Peter said as he grabbed my arm.
"I'll be fine, it's probably just my stepbrothers raiding my kitchen again."  I tried.
"What if it's not?" He countered.
"If I need any help, I'll scream." I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before I walked towards the open barn door. I poked my head inside with my fists ready as a loud bang was heard on the second floor. Dallas and Freedom were cowering in the back of their stalls and my stomach dropped. They would be stomping around if it was my step family. I grabbed a knife from the counter as I crept up the stairs slowly as my heart pounded on my ribcage.
I quietly opened my bedroom door to see everything was everywhere. I gripped the knife harder in my right hand as I went over to the kitchen. I let out a breath of relief when there was no one in the house, but it was all too soon. A drop of water fell on my head.
"Son of a bitch." I cursed as I looked up to see the Green Goblin. I let out a loud scream as he let go of the ceiling and fell on me. My head smacked the floorboards with a loud crack as black spots flew in front of my vision. I couldn't move as the Green Goblin picked me up and shook me.
"Where am I!?" He yelled as my head throbbed and I became paralyzed. "Tell me!" He yelled as he shook me again.
"Let her go!" Someone yelled as I was dropped onto the floor. I didn't feel anything.
"SaRa! Move!" Someone whispered as I tried but failed. All my strength and energy had left my body as I heard gun shots. I saw a green blur run and someone rushed over to my almost unconscious body and lifted my head before I blacked out.

Peter's POV

We were almost there when I noticed that the barn door was open.
"Guys, stay here. I'll be right back." Sara whispered as we all stopped.
"Sara, no! You could get hurt." I exclaimed as I grabbed her bare arm.
"I'll be fine, it's probably just my stepbrothers raiding my kitchen again." She tried.
"What if it's not?" I countered. I had such a horrible feeling in the pit if my stomach, I can't let her get hurt.
"If I need any help, I'll scream." She smiled softly at me as she gave my hand a reassuring squeeze and she walked towards the open barn door. I never lifted my gaze from her, even as everyone started to tease me. After a few moments my spidey since kicked into high gear and I ran towards her just as she screamed. I ran as fast as I could and yelled her name over and over, trying to get a response, for her to jump out at me with her beautiful smile and tell me it was all just a joke, or that she was too lazy to come back. My hope for her safety was popped when I saw Green Goblin shaking her small figure in his hand and yelling at her.
"Let her go!" I bellowed as he dropped her motionless body onto the floor. I didn't feel anything.
"SARA! MOVE!" Mr. Stark yelled as the Green Goblin almost stepped on her. I saw her struggle so I ran towards her and slid just between Goblin's legs and pulled her into my chest as I brought her over near the fridge.
"Oh, Sara..." I choked as the Avengers fought Goblin. My glove was soaked with her blood when I pulled my hand back from her head. I pulled her in closer as a gun fired and Goblin screeched in pain before running away.
"Sara!" An old man with a pistol in his hand yelled as he pointed the gun at us.
"Let. Her. GO!" He yelled as I pulled her closer. "I won't ask you again! Let her go!"
"Stone? I'm ok, put the gun down... they didn't hurt me." Sara said as she turned her head towards the man.
"Sara, what?! When I said live a little, I ment get out of the house more often! Not this!" He yelled as he took her into his arms.
"You also said find someone who makes me happy... guess what?" She asked.
"What, you stupid child?" He asked with a small laugh.
"The universe sent me the Avengers! Don't tell anyone though... it's a ssssssecret... shhhh!" She put her finger to her lips.
"What?!" He yelped.
"Shhhhhhhh! My head's feeling a bit loopy... hehe loopy... that's a funny word." She giggled as she flopped around in his arms.
"Still yourself child. You're just like your father." He sighed as he told Mr. Stark to get the first aid kit under her bed.
"Daddy was funny." She bubbled.
"Yes, especially when he was on anaesthetics." The older man pat her hand as she giggled.
"I miss daddy... I should have been there! I could have stopped that! If only I was smarter, faster... but I wasn't... and now he's dead because of me!" She yelled.
"That's quite enough child! Stop blame yourself. It wasn't your fault! You were only 8 years old! That is enough." He scolded her as she whimpered.
"Here's the first aid kit. If I may ask, but what happened? How do you know her?" Mr. Stark asked the man.
"I'm her auto mechanics teacher, not only that, I was also extremely close to her father, I was there when she was born." He started. "She's an extremely gifted child, she knows more then I do when it comes to most things, yet she decides to fail at most of her subjects. She tops me when it comes to math. Watch. Sara? What does 1,269,035 ×365,578,901 equal?" He asked.
"463,932,420,630,535." She mumbled as he held stroked her hair.
"Good girl. See? She's a walking talking calculator. Extremely smart child, but also extremely stubborn." He sighed as he cut the skin around the cut on her head.
"So? What happened?" Cap asked as I scooted closer and grazed her fingers with mine.
"Long story short? Her mother was a kind woman. He father was a kind and loving soul. Mother didn't want a daughter, had a daughter. Father loved the daughter more then he loved the mother. Mother goes mad and becomes deadly. Father trys to protect his children. House fire kills all the children, but the daughter lives. A lot more happens to the daughter along the way that she hasn't even told me. Mother gets fed up and shoots the daughter but father jumps in front of her and he dies right in front of her eyes. Mother marrys total deadbeat. They have 3 boys. Mother suspiciously disappears, leaving daughter to become the slave of her step family. And that brings us up to today." He summed up the story of her life so far.
"Woah, I mean, I figured she went through a lot, but not that much." Mr. Stark breathed out.
"She doesn't tell many people, and I'm quite surprised she's letting all of you into her house." He said.
"They mean a lot to me, Stone... friends, family." Sara smiled as a yawn escaped her mouth.
"Let's get you to bed darling." He said but he couldn't lift her.
"Let's not make her walk." I offered as I reached down and picked her up, bridal style.
"We fixed up her room and a few other rooms as well." Nat, Clint, Bruce, and Scott said as I nodded.
"I want someone with her all night." Stone said.
"Peter will." Mr. Stark said as I carried her towards her room.
"Don't leave her side at all tonight or tomorrow, ok?" He told me as I nodded and opened her door. I gently laid her down on her bed.
"Stay with me?" She whimpered as she grabbed her hand.
"Of course." I smiled gently.
"I mean, with me? Like... in the bed?" She mumbled.
"Are you sure you're ok with this?" I asked holding her hand.
"Yeah, unless you don't want to... you don't have to." She rushed out.
"It's ok." I whispered as I placed a soft kiss on her hand before walking over to the other side of the bed and getting in next to her.
"Goodnight, Peter." She whispered as she scooted closer.
"Sweet dreams, Sara." I whispered into her hair as I pulled her closer to me and kissed her head.
