Sara
The next morning I was woken up by a soft kiss on my lips. I smiled into the kiss as I opened my eyes to see Peter on the other end of my lips.
"Morning, love." He grinned as he pulled me closer into his body.
"Morning, Peter." I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Peter, I have to get up and get changed before i go for my run." I kissed his cheek trying to get up but he pulled me back down on his chest.
"Don't leave... you're warm." He whined as I kissed him and pushed away to walk into my bathroom to get dressed."I'll be back." I kissed his cheek as I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail.
"You look great." He smirked as I rolled my eyes and walked out and put the coffee on before I went for my run. Today was my only day off from my family, so I could do anything I wanted.
I jogged around the field for about an hour before I came back inside.
"Good morning dear, how did you sleep?" Tony asked.
"Well thank you. How did you sleep?" I asked.
"Pretty good, actually." He smiled softly at me.
"That's great, I'm going to take a shower real quick, but coffee is brewing in the kitchen, help yourself." I smiled as he nodded and I ran back to my room to see Peter fast asleep. I giggled softly as I shook my head and took a cold shower.
Once I dried off, I put on my clothes and blow dried my hair before putting it in a messy bun and walked into the kitchen."Hmm... no boots today?" Tony asked as he poured me a cup of coffee.
"Thanks, and today is my lazy day. My stepfather is out with his new girlfriend, and my stepbrothers won't be back until like past midnight drunk off their... rears." I corrected as Steve gave me a look.
"So, I'm guessing you had a good night last night?" Nat asked as she came down and sat next to me in the kitchen.
"Yeah, probably the best night of sleep I've ever had." I grinned as someone wrapped their arms around my waist and hummed into my neck.
"Me too." Peter hummed before he kissed my cheek and took the other seat next to me.
"Oh? You two slept together?" Nat asked.
"Not like that!" I exclaimed as I hid my face in my hands.
"Oh, by the way Stonestreet brought this in for you." Scott said as he handed me my mail.
"Cool, thanks Scott." I smiled softly as I went threw it and stopped when it got to a letter from a college.
"You just went pale... are you ok?" Bruce asked.
"Is that a college app? You're only 16!" Tony exclaimed.
"Yeah, it is... but I filled one out not too long ago for a few... this was the one my dad wanted me to go to... I can't read it." I breathed as I handed it to someone.
"Dear Ms. Carter," Tony started. "We are overjoyed that you have taken interest in our school. We have heard quite wonderful things about your talents. We are sorry to inform you that we can not accept you." He mumbled the last part as my head dropped to the counter.
"I'm so sorry, Sara." Peter rubbed my back as I took in a deep breath to hold back all my emotions.
"It's ok... there's always others." I faked a smile.
"Sara, it's ok. You were too good for them anyway." Scott said.
"Why would they write it like that?! They got all our hopes up and then burned them all." Nat raged.
"Guys, it's ok, I'm ok. After all, I'm only 16, the future can wait 2 more years." I tried.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, I mean there's more then that one college, I can always try something else." I smiled. I'll cry later, for now, we have more pressing matters. I thought as Scott paled a little bit. "Scott? You good?" I asked getting up and walking over to him as his knees gave out. I caught him before he hit the floor.
"Guys! Help me get him to the couch." I exclaimed as Tony and Steve picked him up and brought him over.
"What happened, Scott?" Steve asked.
"I don't know, it just hit me." Scott said as I took his wrist and checked his pulse.
"For here it's a bit fast. It's 103." I said a minute later.
"I'm usually in the low 90s. I don't know what happened." He said.
"I have a theory, it may be because you guys have been here too long. As much as I wish you didn't have to leave, you don't belong in this universe, and my guess is that it'll start to attack you one by one." I frowned. "I need to find a way to get you home." I continued.
"Sara! Rachel broke up with me!" My stepfather yelled through the speaker.
"It's my day off, can we just not today?" I asked.
"Get over here now." He growled darkly as Nat grabbed my arm.
"I'll be fine, if I scream, promise me none of you will try to save me." I asked.
"But-!" Peter started.
"No. Please don't." I looked at him with big eyes trying to persuade him.
"Fine. Just be careful." He gave in as I nodded and ran over to the main house.
