"I wish you could see your ugly face right now." Brody is laughing so hard he is holding his sides.

"What are you doing here in Sam's car! I need to get to work!" Why did he wait until the last year in high school to pull this shit.

"Chill. Sam asked me to drive you there and pick you up. I actually like this home and I don't wanna get sent to another one. But I need the car to go to Jax's party sooooooo I'll drop you off and you can find another ride home."

"Ok, but how am I supposed to find someone to pick me up?"

"Guess you gotta make a friend at your work. Gotta talk to people eventually, Millie." He laughed.

"I talk to people. I talk to customers."

"Ok, if you don't have a ride by midnight, call me. "

"By midnight?! Brody the mall closes at 9. I need you to come pick me up."

"You need me to have fun at the party? Ok I'll see you at midnight if you don't have a ride." He is shaking his head yes.

"Like I want you to pick me up high and drunk. I'll find my own ride."

Brody pulls into the mall lot towards the food court entrance. As I'm getting out his hand catches my wrist.

"Millie, I'm sorry for the things I said to you after lunch." I've never seen that side of him before...ever. But then again, he has never spoke such hateful things either.

"It's fine, Brody." I slam the door shut.

Why did Sam have to let Brody take me and pick me up from work. Doesn't he know Brody by now? He never intended to get me from work.

Working at the mall literally sucks. Soon I'll be at the Coffee House that is stationed on Gainesville's campus and I won't have to worry about being brought to work. Also, when I age out I'll get my license and save for a car.

The work night is crazy busy. I don't even have time to think about asking anyone for a ride and I don't know anyone well enough to ask. All the openers have left and it's just another girl, Sara, that went to my school last year.

She was really cool so I don't even bother asking her.

As we lock up, it's 9:15 and I realize I don't even have Brody's number. I make a mental note to get that from him.

Well, it's only like 6 blocks right? We don't live that far away. Fuck.

I'm walking along the back road behind the mall when I see a car pull up next to me.

Sara.

"Hey what are you doing? Doesn't your dad normally pick you up or something?" She looked concerned.

"Yeah, usually. I guess he really can't tonight."

"Get in, girl I got you tonight. Why didn't you just ask?"

"I don't know. I just keep to myself."

"Well you should really talk to people more often. You are very good with the customers, imagine if you talked to people and made some friends!"

"Thank you."

"You're welcome! So where do you live?"

"Williams Creek, just take a left here and a right at the light." I smile.

"That's not too far from my house!"

After work I finish up my homework and get ready for the next day. Tomorrow is Friday and I plan to wear my favorite pair of high waisted ripped skinny jeans and a plain black t-shirt that looks like it shrunk in the wash. Oh well. Saturday I'll do my laundry.

Buzz. Buzz.

Unknown #: Hey Princess. How was work?

Me: Who is this?

I know exactly who it is. Only one person calls me Princess lately.

Unknown #: Who else calls you Princess? Wished you were here to wrap your beautiful legs around me at the party.

What the fuck. There is that unfamiliar but familiar knot in my lower belly again.

Me: Uh huh. Did Brody tell you say that one? It was cute.

Jax: Ouch, baby. I wasn't anywhere near Brody tonight. Too busy thinking about my Princess.

Me: Ha ha it was a great laugh. Get back to the girl that probably in your bed right now. You can also start ignoring me again.

Jax: Fine, but I'll be wishing she was you. You won't be able to resist me to much longer, Princess.

I hope this game that Brody and Jax are playing with me doesn't last very long. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to take without catching feelings. And I don't want to get my heart broken.
