Chapter 1 (A New Beginning)

My name is Kushina Uzumaki. I wear a little black clip in my hair to keep my annoying red long hair out of my face. I'm quite fair-skinned which makes it virtually impossible to get a tan. There's only one feature I like about myself and that's my violet eyes. I was born into the Uzumaki clan of Uzushiogakure. We had a close alliance with the hidden leaf village and we was distant blood descendants. The uzushiogakure symbol is used on the hidden leafs flak jackets as a sign of friendship. Our clan was feared because of our clan's impressive skill, so we were seen as a huge threat. This lead to the destruction of our clan. The remaining survivors were forced to go into hiding and are scattered around the globe. So I went to go live in the hidden leaf village where I was enrolled to the ninja academy there.

Kushina's POV

It was my first day at the academy. I was so hyped up about going, but nervous at the same time. I'm excited about meeting my new classmates and make some new friends, but I'm afraid of making a bad first impression. I just don't want to say the wrong thing. I had a mixture of feelings running through me. A tall, normal-sized weight man appeared in front of me. He had long silver hair that came halfway down his back. He wore the normal jounin uniform that had my clans symbol on. "Hi my name is Sakumo and I'll be your sensei for the year." he said smiling and holding his hand out to shake mine. I accepted the gesture and he then led me towards the classroom where all my classmates would be. We walked through the door and everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me.

"Right class this is your new classmate. Would you like to introduce yourself to the class?" Sakumo sensei turned to ask me.

"Hi, I'm Kushina Uzumaki" I said nervously.

"Look at the colour of her hair!" A average height boy with scruffy brown hair said, trying to tease me.

"That's enough Haru." Sensei said sticking up for me.

"I want to become the first female hokage in this village ya know!... oh" I shouted. I've always been quite loud but when I feel slightly uncomfortable I tend to shout and say stuff without thinking before hand.

The room soon erupts into a fit of laughter. They were laughing at me. I fidgeted slightly feeling slightly agitated with the situation.

"I want to become hokage too. I want the village to respect me." Some kid said whilst standing up from his desk. He had yellow bangs that came down to his chin on each side of his face.

"An outsider like you can't become hokage." Haru said to me disaprovingly.

"I'll prove you wrong. All of you!" I said determined.

I was sitting at my desk staring into space while listening to sensei ramble on about some boring fighting strategies. 

" Minato, pay attention to the board." Sensei said to grab his attention. 

I glanced over to where he was sitting and caught him looking at me. It was probably just a coincidence. He noticed that I caught him looking at me. He then quickly swung his head around and brought his attention back to the board. I noticed his face turned a slight shade of red. He's probably starting to come down with something. 

The bell for lunch started to ring and sensei dismissed us all for lunch. I was packing my stuff into my bag getting ready to leave, when Haru and his sidekick appeared in front of my desk. 

"What do you want?" I asked in an annoyed tone.

"Hey, I've got a nickname for you." Haru said with a grin on his face.

"Oh and whats that?" I replied pretending to be interested.

"Tomato." He simply stated. "Your called tomato because you look just like one with your round face and red hair." He added, angering me.

"I don't like tomatos." Haru's little minion stated. He was pretty small with thick black hair. Lets just say he also wasn't the smartest.

At this point fury consumed me. I got up from my desk. "That's it!" I shouted whilst shoving him onto the floor. I sat on top of him stopping his movements, while throwing punches at him. "You know I hate tomatoes just as much as you do!" I screamed at him in anger.

"Haru get her off me." The sidekick said to his leader.

"Sorry Hideaki, your on your own." Haru replied laughing.

I got off of Hideaki and walked towards where Haru stood. His face dropped instantly scared of what I was going to do. I threw a punch at him. "And thats for calling me a tomato." I said to him with a smile on my face. I heard minato laughing. I turned around and glared at him. "What are you laughing at?" I said bitterly. His smile quickly vanished and he turned away. What a wimp I thought to myself. He has no chance of becoming hokage if he can't simply stick up for himself.
