As soon as the bell rang, you and Jisung raced to the car and drove you to your grandma's bakery to drop you off. You waved goodbye as Jisung drove away. When you opened the door you were met with the sweet smell of baked treats.
"Ah, Y/N! When you finish your homework can you help me? Business is kinda up there today?" Your grandma asks as you set your bag in the back.
"Yep." You replied blandly as you threw your homework on the table. You quickly jotted down math equations and finished the last few sentences of your essay. 5:30 pm. You tied an apron around your waist and fixed your hair before walking out to meet your grandma.
"Can you take orders?" Your grandma directed as she handed a customer their change, you nodded and switched places with your grandma as she headed towards the back and began baking more sweets. You took orders left and right as kids entered from their evening classes, You heard the bell on the door chime as someone walked it.
"Hi welcome to Dough Re Mi, how can I help y-" Your smile turned emotionless as once again, you spot the purple sweatshirt from before.
"Oh, Hi Y-Y/N." Hyunjin stammered. He quickly grabbed a bag of candy and tossed it on the counter.
"Just these and a water." He said smiling sheepishly."Anything else?" You sighed grabbing a bottle of water from the cooler behind you.
"Nope." He took out his wallet as he waited for the amount.
"That'll be 6,000₩." You replied scanning his bag of watermelon candy. He handed you the money and sat down at a table near the window. You straightened your apron as you began typing in the order for the next customer.
Time seemed to tick by slowly as you skimmed over the pages of some Shakespeare book your music teacher gave you for lyric inspiration. What does knowing about some dead poet have to do with songwriting? I'll never understand Mr JYP...
You shove your book behind the counter as you heard a voice."How long have you been working here?" Hyunjin glances up to see you about to fall asleep.
"Why do you need to know?" You spat glancing at the clock.
"I-I was just wondering...How come I never saw you here? I always come here after school to study." Explained Hyunjin.
"I usually work later shifts since I have a lot of homework." You sighed propping your head up with your hands.
"That's reasonable. I-If you need any help with your homework. You can just ask me." He fiddled with the pages of his book.
"How cheeky." You grunt, "I'll pass." You continued to attempt the gibberish that was scribbled all over the pages of your book, Why did Shakespeare have to write like he was a 3 year old? Literally, who says "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo? Deny thy father, and refuse thy name Romeo?" in the first place? More like "Go fuck thyself Romeo" Your thoughts were interrupted by your grandma tapping your shoulder.
"I'm heading to bed, you can close up now or until that young man leaves."
"Okay, night grandma." You smiled faintly. She nodded and headed up the stairs to her room. Guess that's my queue, Now I just have to get HIM out of here.
"Yo! Lover Boy." You look over to see him resting his head on the table. I swear if he drools all over that table he's gonna get kicked in the- Hyunjin's eyes fluttered open as you untied your apron and hung it on its hook.
"W-What?" He stammered as he wiped the imaginary drool from the corner of his mouth.
"I gotta close up, so, go home." You pointed to the clock which showed it was almost 7:50.
