"What happened to you?" I just shook my head.
It's a good thing Alexandra already left...
"Nothing, I just met a pest," I told him and we then went on, we'll have our lunch outside campus.
"Where do you want to eat?" He asked as he open the door for me to get in.
"Hey Jefferson, what's your recommendation?" I asked the driver, well he knows his way around town.
"Still hate deciding?" Laurens said with a laugh.
"Just shut up you milk addict giraffe," I snapped at him.
"Hey, it's been quite a long time since you called me by that name," he said he looks quite amazed.
"Oh? You want me to call you that in public now?" I asked with a smirk which made him frown, this guy...
"I can now imagine you being under, sir," I then laughed at Jefferson's remark.
"Just shut up and drive Jefferson," Laurens growled which made Jefferson and I laugh.
"Jefferson, why are we baving a drive thru?" Laurens asked which made me nod.
"I just thought that the two of you needs some time alone, so why don't you guys go and have a picnic?" Well that was smart.
•••
"Give it a try," I told Laurens as I held up a strawberry.
We went shopping before going here. Jefferson said it's sweeter ahaha. I'm starting to like that guy's ideas, although I'm not yet feeling anything towards Laurens just yet. I don't want to say yes yet just because I feel comfortable with him, I mean I can get comfortable with just anyone but I won't fall in love with just anyone.
Besides, I think he can wait. Wait for me to get ready, and open up my heart again. Risk getting hurt again.
"I'm allergic to berries," he said which made my eyes widened.
"Sorry I didn't know..." Come to think of it, I don't know much about him...
"Hey, tell me about yourself," I said as I play with the berries.
"What? Are we getting to the getting to know stage?" He then laughed at his own joke.
"Yeah," he then coughed at my response, ahaha he looks kinda cute...
"Well, I like traveling since my mother is a traveler when she was young. I have a lot of friends, male in particular since my mom said that I shouldn't be close to gurls and show the initiative because girls often misundertands things," he started to talk about his life.
"Your mom must've been a great mother," I said, I could see the joy in his eyes talking about her.
"Yeah she was, until she fell in love with another guy saying that dad doesn't really have time for her and that, she fell out of love..." I can't bare it, I can't bare seeing him with that sad expression...
Is this it? Is this one of the signs? Am I really falling again? Come to think of it, when Yanni picked up Alexandra it didn't hurt that much? I mean I was frightened by them since they're the reaosn of my hardships for the past years but my heart didn't ache at the sight of them together. It was like I don't care anymore...
"That's why I'm always going to make time for you. To love you and protect you so I won't miss out. Because I realized you became my world, Rikka. I can't bare you getting hurt, I can't bare your tears... And like how I want to discover the world, I want to know you more, to see the sides that no one has ever seen. And that I'll make it as if I'll be the only one to see it so that no one could hurt you again, I promise I'll never hurt you..."
*Dug* *dug* *dug* *dug*
Finally...
"You don't need to promise that you won't hurt me, because it wouldn't be love if you won't get hurt. And, my heart says that I'm willing to love you so much that it'll hurt. The pain is proof that I'm willing to be pained to be happy. And you made me happy," I said with a smile as tears slide down my cheeks.
I'm finally free, free from the cage I made for myself. Thanks, thanks for bursting in...
