Walking along the beach always soothes me the warm sand between your toes the crashing waves humming as I move. It was my paradise. Whenever I walk along the beach I do it late in the afternoon because that is when the best views are.
As i reach the the bays edge the pier begins to form and the crisp San Francisco air cools my burning cheeks.
As I begin to reach the pier I am just in time for the showstopper. The only reason I walk down the beach. The sunset. The beautiful sunset the warm oranges and bright yellows are just breathtaking
================================================================================================As I sit and watch I lose track of time without even knowing I've been sat here for an hour. As I collect my things I see a small head peep around the corner of the closed souvenir shop. Looking back I can see the sacredness in the child's eyes. I gesture for the child to come over but she doesn't budge. " hey sweetie are you lost" I announce in hope the child will answer. A small voice emerges from around the building "yes , um , um I need help and I'm lost my dada has boo boo miss "
" okay sweetie I need you to come a little closer So you can tell me a little bit so we can find your daddy okay?"
She nods her head in agreement and totters towards the bench where I am sitting. I gesture her to sit down beside me but she decides to sit on a seat ajasent to me.
" okay sweetie what's your name?"
" Dadda says we no give name to strangers"
" well you have one smart daddy well done" I say this even though it would have helped to know her name.
"Okay instead of that, I need you to tell me what it looks like, where daddy is okay sweetie?"
She nods
" he was on the beach on de board and he went woosh up up and came off and and he was bloody, yucky yucky, so dada point finger and say ( she says in a deep voice mimicking her father) 'go get some help baby quick get any one you can find' so I came here and found you?"
Well that really worked we narrowed a surroundings as THE WHOLE FUCKING BEACH I mentally face palm as I try to rap my head around this situation.
"Okay sweet heart that was great now we have to try to find your dad okay and I need you to lead the way okay?"
"Mmhm I think I can do that"
"Okay let's go then"
