I leave the cubicle and wash my face staring back into the mirror my face is all puffy and swollen from crying I wash my face with cold water once more before exiting the restroom.
As I leave I see Lottie and Reese sitting in a booth facing the window. As soon as Lottie sees me her face lights up.
"Over her Kira, over here" she says brightly waving her hand back and forth in the air.
I stride over slowly as I cross my arms over my chest and inhale the masculine scent of the jumper I'm wearing. It smells so good.
As I reach the table I lower myself into a seat next to Lottie and shove her in the side playfully making her giggle. As I look back at Reese he looks at me and he is saddened by me. Suddenly I feel his foot caress the side of my leg I'm shocked by his gesture but I'm enjoying the comfort from him. He can see me hurt and he wants to make it better. Aw he does care.
Deep in thought our waitress interrupts us by placing our drinks on our table. I smile sweetly at her as she places my drink in front of me. She smiles at all of us sweetly
"Y'all are a sweet family"
"Oh no we're not" I say pointing between myself and Reese as he shakes his head profusely in agreement.
"Oh shame" she says before placing our bill down and walking off.
I look up at Reese as I can feel my cheeks burn at the thought that she thought we looked like a family. Do me and Reese look like a couple? Does Lottie look like my daughter?
