A/N Leo dicaprio as 13 year old Jim I'm dead ❤🥰

1955. It was a hot summer day, Jim was waiting outside Joyce's house. Why was she taking so long? She never took so long? He looked at her front door and she finally came out of the door.

"Finally. Joyce, why'd you take so long?" Jim said while getting on his bike. "What about your bike?" Joyce tugged on her cigarette jeans and cleared her throat. "Well um, I don't feel like riding today"

"Why are you acting so weird, Joycie? Jim said as he sat on the floor. Joyce hated lying to him, and she also sucked at it, so she didn't lie. "Girl stuff, Jim" she sat next to him. Jim's eyes widen "Do you have a crush? Is it on me?" Joyce laughed and hit his arm playfully. "No. I will never have a crush, especially on you, Jimmy" Jim laughed as well. He liked when she was happy, he hated seeing her sad.

"Jim. I got my period, you know that thing I told you about that one day after all the girls got the s- e - x talk. I came to you practically crying my eyes out and I told you that I never wanted to get my period. Well I got it today, and it sucks." She broke down, her hands covering her face. "It's so shitty, it hurts like hell"

Jim wrapped his arms around her. "You know, I have some money on me. I can ride my bike, you can be on the back. We can go and get M&Ms, and we can read Pride and Prejudice. Your two favorite things" He smiled.

Joyce looked at his piercing blue eyes and smiled. "Three favorite things" Jim smiled back. "Come on!" Jim got on his bike and Joyce got on the back of the bike and hung on to Jim. "Thank you for doing this, Jim-Jim" she smiled as she blew her bangs out of her face.

They had picked the M&Ms and coca cola. Now they were in Jim's tree house. They were reading Pride and Prejudice . They were taking turns in reading. It was the best day of her life. She never realized how lucky she was to have him, and how cute he was.

"Earth to Joycie. Earth to Joyce Laura Horowitz" He waved his hand in front of her face. "Don't ever use my full name again, Hopper" Jim rolled his eyes. "It's your turn to read, Horowitz" she shook her head. "Can you read it? Pleaseeeee" Jim smiled and sighed "Fine, Joycie"

“A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.”  Jim read. And there was a moment of realization. She realized that it wasn't a normal friendship, it wasn't just admiration. It was love. Sure they've said it to each other plenty of times, but that was friend love. She felt a different  type of love.
