The next day as I was walking to school, I spotted a familiar figure at the crosswalk. Min Yoongi. He was wearing a black and white Supreme hoodie, black ripped jeans, and vans. And of course, headphones. I smiled to myself as I realized we were practically matching.

I stopped watching him for a second and sneezed. He instantly looked up at me from his phone. I raised my hand in greeting, and he looked back down again."So much for that," I thought to myself as I looked away, embarrassed.

After he crossed the street, he started walking just a little ways in front of me. A few steps later, he stopped and turned around, looking right at me.

"Since we're going to the same school, we might as well walk together," Yoongi said, motioning me to come forward. "Oh, uh, alright!" I replied, as I awkwardly walked up beside him.

We walked in silence for a few moments, then he spoke. "You're Y/N, right? My name is Yoongi." "Oh, yeah! We have first and eighth period together," I said, smiling at him. "That we do." He replied, looking back at me. "So, what kind of music do you like? What ever it is, you seem to listen to quite a lot of it!" I queried, as he and I have similar tastes in clothes, so maybe music too?

"Oh, you've probably never heard of them.. " He said, fidgeting  with his headphone cable. "Try me!" I answered, now very curious. "Okay, well, uh, have you ever heard of the band 6Roses?" He asked, looking down. My mouth dropped open. That was my favorite band.

"What's wrong?" Yoongi asked, looking quite confused at my expression. "Nothing's wrong! 6Roses is my favorite band!" I blurted out, still shocked. "For real?" He asked, skeptically. I pulled out my phone and showed him my music. It turns out there are a lot of bands that we both like. We talked about music the whole way to school.

We walked to our first class together, still talking. When we reached our classroom, people looked at us weird as we came in together, chatting it up. We walked over to his desk. "Hey, what's your number?" Yoongi asked, as he pulled out his phone."Oh! here," I replied, pulling out my own.

We exchanged numbers and talked a moment more, but then Mrs. Lim walked in, so I said bye and headed to my desk.

I smiled through the rest of class. I had finally done it! I had made friends with quiet, mysterious, Min Yoongi. And he asked for my number! I noticed that Ahra wasn't here today, but I didn't take much notice. I was too happy to care!

As first period ended, I was gathering my books when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, to find Yoongi. "Hey, um, Y/N, do you want to eat lunch with me today?" He asked, with an expression of anticipation on his face. "Sure I'd love to." I replied, smiling.

Then something happened that I never saw coming. He smiled.  It was the most adorable thing I had ever seen. As I walked to second period, I grinned all the way. Min Yoongi had a gummy smile. I could hardly focus on classes with the excitement of eating lunch with Yoongi on my mind.

After third period was over, it was finally time. I began walking to the cafeteria, and made it in a few minutes. As I walked inside, I looked around, and after a moment, found Yoongi.

He was sitting at a table for two in the left corner of the room. I waved, and he raised his hand. I started to make my way over. "Hello," I said as I sat down across from him. "Hey." He responded, with a small smile. "Oh yeah, here," He said as he started to look through his bag.

He produced 2 cans of coffee, handing one to me. It was still warm. "Thank you!" I said as I reached for the can. Our hands touched as I took it. He looked away and pulled his hand back. I looked down and smiled.

"So, Y/N, what do your parents do?" Yoongi asked, trying to change the subject. "Well, my mom recently started teaching at a college nearby, because my dad is, well, um, in prison," I said the last two words very softly, and looked down again.

He cracked open his can of coffee. "Oh, well I live with my mom and stepfather. My mother worked as my stepfather's secretary in his company, and well one thing lead to another and my mom left my dad for her boss, so, yeah." He said looking at me as he sipped his drink.

I was surprised that he didn't look at me with disgust, or pity after I told him about my dad. I was thankful he didn't ask questions like, "What's he in for?" Or something, as most did.

For the rest of lunch we just talked about life, music and how bad the school food is. As I was walking to fifth period, I stopped and realized something.

I had a crush on Min Yoongi.
