Virgil was a normal kid. I say "was," because during this year something was different about him. Virgil Finch was funny and talked a lot. But after Christmas break this year everything changed. Virgil became mute. His friends didn't ask him what happened they just abandoned him. Some days he would come to school with a black eye and no one cared. It was like he was invisible. Which is what he was going for. Virgil soon developed an eating disorder. But no one cared. Virgil wanted to be so skinny he could disappear.
Not even a teacher asked him about it. It was just one day he didn't talk when someone asked him a question. The school did have a student counciler talk to him. But all he did was sit there. You would think that day was the first time he had an anxiety attack. But it wasn't.
Virgil soon became bullied for not talking. That was the only time someone would talk to him. Even if a new kid would come. Which one did.
There name was Patton Davis. He was going to talk to Virgil but someone stopped him and told him not to talk to him. Maybe if Patton would have talked to Virgil he wouldn't have been so alone.
Virgil soon graduated from Middle school and no one was there for him. He was by himself. No one cared though. No one cared about Virgil anymore.
