The History Of Mer-creatures

ATTENTION! It is recommended to read this in order to start the story as you may not know why Taehyung's situation is as is.

120 years ago, there was a fearful event that would never be forgotten in the history of mer-creatures. Their genocide that once disrupted the race and would never be the same.

It all started with a type of mer-creature, the sirens.

Sirens were extremely intelligent, as they were known for luring human sailors to their doom. The mermaids (and mermen), saw this as a threat to their civilization, and set out to exterminate the sirens.

However, that plan failed, and the sirens vowed to take revenge. They had planned their revenge for decades, until Kim Yulgi came along. Kim Yulgi, took the position as leader and led her fleet of sirens to the mermaids (and mermen) and killed one kingdom after another.

The sirens have taken over 1200+ lives of the mer-creatures, and were taken down.

Before Yulgi set out to lead her race against the next kingdom, only killed around 1000+ at the time, she accidentally got pregnant. It was unknown to who the father was, as it was suspected and conspired that it was a merman, who disguised himself as a siren and intrude his way into her forces.

After Yulgi had given birth, she had to leave her child with her most trusted friend, the sea-witch's ancestor. The sea-witch's ancestor wasn't necessarily a villain at the time as she blended perfectly with the mermaids from a nearby kingdom. It was that kingdom which stopped the full extinction of mermaids (and mermen) and supposedly killed off the sirens.

Taehyung's mother, carries traces of DNA from Kim Yulgi, but everyone believed that she was just a regular mermaid born out of royalty. She was lucky not to get any visual traits from Yulgi, but not so much fo Taehyung.

Mer-creatures had their true versions appear of themselves between the ages of 12-16, and in the cases for mermaids (and mermen), they only had a trait which is know as "True color". As for sirens, they also had "true color" and with the ability to sharpen their senses along with the capability to learn magic.

True color- mermaids (and merman) are born with a basic color, and once they transform into their true color, they have different hues of color. It only changes the tail and hair.

Forbidden True Colors: silver, black, purple, blue, and gold. (If a mermaid's true color is a white with a hue of a forbidden color, then it isn't considered as dangerous. It is okay for anyone with royal blood to have specks of forbidden colors.)

Taehyung's true version appeared at the age of 9, at his birthday party. The whole kingdom attended his birthday, and the room was filled with screams after his transformation. His tail had turned into a rich navy blue, along with his hair.

The King had the sea-witch change all their memories, and replaced them with knowing that that day was Jimin's birthday instead of Taehyung's. Later that night, Taehyung's mother was murdered. Taehyung's memories were also reversed in the process, and the only ones remembering of the event was Jimin, the King, the Queen, and the Min-Jun, who was only 15 at the time.

Jimin, second in line was always jealous of Taehyung. Taehyung received attention, way more attention than Jimin. He knew that he was an illegitimate child of the King while Taehyung's mother was still alive, hence why he wasn't recognized as much as Taehyung.

After Taehyung's birthday, Jimin saw this as his chance to be close to his father, and it worked. Taehyung was thrown into a cell that day, never to leave again.

The King hired Min-Jun to be the caretaker of Taehyung, which at the time, didn't know that he was the son of the sea-witch.
