If you ever worry that you're weird, or taking it a bit far as a fangirl, remember that people in Ancient Rome used to buy vials of their favorite gladiator's sweat to wear as perfume,so like,at least it's not a new thing,huh?

I put a photo of the scraper and the bottle.This strigil (scraper) shows us that Roman bathing habits were different from ours. They didn't use soap, but oil (hence the bottle) in a public ritual of oiling up, exercising, steaming, sweating and then scraping with the strigil. As the strigil was pulled across the skin, it would remove the oil and along with it the layer of dead skin cells, dirt and sweat. Pliny the Elder claimed that gladiators would collect these scrapings (gloios) and sell them to rich Roman ladies.)
