CHAPTER SEVEN

"Um...nothing mum." Melinda said then smiled when Madison gave her a playful angry look.

"Seriously mum we weren't whispering, we were just talking about
Mr. Breggs."

"I didn't know you lie."

"I'm not lying mu-" Melinda shut her mouth when Madison gave her another look, but this time,it wasn't playful.

"Okay...dad was just telling me how much he loves you."

"And...?" Madison asked curiously.

"Nothing." Madison once more gave her a look.

"Seriously mum...nothing."

"Okay. But...do you think he is thinking of proposing?" Madison asked, propping herself up with her elbow.

"I don't know, I'm still a little girl mum."

"Yeah right...but you wouldn't say that when I ask you if you want to assist me to cook or go to the grocery store."

"Are you angry at me mum?" Melinda asked, she really wanted to tell Madison what she and Mark had discussed, but she couldn't because she promised to keep it a secret.

"I'm not, I'm just so anxious, I mean we've been together for more than a year and he hasn't proposed."

"Well, dad loves you, I'm sure he has something up his sleeves."

"Yeah. I hope so."

"Hey beautiful." Mark said giving Madison a kiss, she had just opened the door for him.

"Hey."

"Um..go dress up."

"Why?" Madison asked.

"We're going out obviously."

"Okay...what about Melinda?"

"We'll drop her off at my parents."

"You know your parents aren't really fond of her yet."

"Yeah. That's why I'm giving them bonding time."

"But...she...are you sure about this?" Madison asked, she wasn't sure what to say.

"Yeah, if not for anyone else, my parents will try to be fond of her because of me."

Madison heaved a sigh. "Okay."

"Where are we going anyway?" She asked.

"No where special, just a picnic." Mark said, trying not to sound suspicious. "And pack some clothes, we'll be out for a few days."

"Okay, I'll just dress up." She said and went into her room.

Madison shut the door and spun around, letting out tiny happy screams pass through her mouth."

Melinda who was laying down just looked at her weirdly.

"Oh Melinda, I think his gonna propose!"

Melinda hopped up from the bed.

"Really?" She asked excitedly, pretending like she didn't know.

"I think so. Uh I have to look for something nice to wear. Oh right, I remember preparing for this day, I've got just the perfect dress."

"Are you guys going out?"

"Yes. For a picnic." Madison said trying to pull off her clothes quickly so she could shower.

"Am I coming?"

"Umm....no?"

"Why?" Melinda asked, she wasn't happy.
