"Who is this? Ha! You come into my house unannounced and you're asking me a damn question." Madison yelled.

"I'll ask you again Madison. Who is this?" Mark said taking a dangerous step forward.

She pushed Melinda behind her, hiding her from his view.

"Why are you here Mark?"

"Answer the damn question Madison."  He yelled.

"She's a little girl."

"Gosh Madison! I know that. You're such an idiot, that's why our marriage never worked."

"What? I'm an idiot? Wow... You never fail to amaze me. You begged me to forget our marriage, to leave the past behind. Then why are you bringing it back? And yet you called me an idiot all because of a little girl."

"Well you've always wanted to know why I left. I left. Because. You. Are. An. Idiot." Mark said, saying the last words viciously.

"Okay I accept it. I am an idiot!" She yelled. "I'm an idiot for putting up with you all those years even when I found out you were a cheating scumbag."

"What?"

"You think I didn't know you were cheating on me with that.. that.. Urrgh!"

"You knew?"

"Yes."

Mark's eyes widened in shock.

"I'm... I'm sor... "

"Stop!" Madison screamed, raising her hand up. "Don't say it if you don't mean it."

"I'm.. I'm.. Sorry Madison. I really am."

"Shut up! You're not sorry! Every time you say those words, you end up hurting me again."

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying those words!"

"What else do you want me to say!" He yelled in frustration.

Her mind became blank, her heart beat faster. Her heart said. 'I want you to say I love you'.

"Get out!" She held, pushing her heart behind, stopping herself from telling him the words she wanted him to say.

"I'm not leaving."

"Get out or I'll call the cops."

"You know I'm not afraid of the cops."

"I don't know anything about you."

"You do." He said moving closer to her. "You know I'm allergic to cheese, you know I keep the lights on at night, you know I snore a lot and most of all, you know you were my first kiss."

Madison's mind became blank again, and her heart beat faster. But this time, she could not push her heart behind.

"Look, I'm sorry." He sighed looking deeply into her eyes. "I really am. I just had a bad day."

"Oh... You had a bad day, then you decided to come all the way to this place just to vent your anger on me?  How cool."

"No. I came here to brighten my day."

"What?"

"I came here because I knew you'll brighten my day. You're my shining star." He said placing her hand in his. "I just- I just wanted to be alone with you."

"I... I..." Madison stuttered, she was at a loss for words.

"You don't have to say anything. I wanted to be alone with you, to talk things out and when I saw her, I became angrier than I already was."
