shinso had already picked midoriya up and they'd been on the road for quite some time in comfortable silence before midoriya spoke up.
"hitoshi, are you sure you actually wanna be with someone like me?" midoriya sighed and looked out the window to avoid eye contact with the male who was driving.
"why are you asking something like that? of course i want to be with you." shinso gave him a quick glance with a small smile.
"but, do you actually, actually like me? i mean, do you think we're going too fast? like, what if you don't actually like me but rather the idea of me? the idea of having someone in your life?" midoriya continued on, doubting himself and his "relationship" with shinso.
as soon as midoriya had mentioned doubts, shinso pulled the car over to talk to him face to face.
"midoriya, you mean the world to me. for most of my life i've spent it in isolation as the weird kid, and i know it sounds stupidly cliche, but you changed my life for the better. you really do mean a lot to me." shinso gave him a hopeful smile, one which midoriya hesitantly returned. "you also look super cute today." shinso's smile turned into a smirk admiring his date.
