After soundcheck, we had at least 15 minutes until the show.  But Dusty looked like she saw a ghost when she came back from the bathroom. I tried to ask her what was wrong, but she just walked away from me.

Emerson shot me a look and shrugged his shoulders. But soon we were called to the stage. Dusty stayed side stage with Austin, and she kept looking behind her. I just felt like she was being watched, and she finally found the one who was watching her. I couldn't tell if it was her biological father, or someone from her past, but she looked petrified.

I tried to keep my eyes off of her during the show, but I gave little glances to her. She had her head against Austin's shoulder by the second to last song of the set.

We said our goodbyes to the crowd and then walked off stage. I wrapped my arm around Dusty, and she put her arm around my waist. "You're sweaty but I don't care." She told me.

I put my other hand against her forehead, flipping it to the back of my hand, and my palm, to check if she was okay, "you good today. Usually you're running away from me after a show." I chuckled.

"Yeah I'm okay. Why wouldnt I be?" She asked.

"I was just making sure. And I'll make sure to get a shower before we go to bed." I told her.

Dusty smiled shyly and then let go of me, running to catch up with Emerson.
