"Lilly, will you marry me?"
-----
It was the best day ever. It was the first day of the rest of her life with the one she loved. They were middle school sweathearts. Imagine that. Being deeply in love with someone for so long, making it work, finally getting married. It was a dream come true. Especially for Lilly.
Everything was bee movie themed. From the decorations to the cake to the dress. Everything was black and yellow. There were bouquets of sunflowers on each table. The wedding is taking place in a rustic barn, adorned with flowers to attrct more bees.
Her dress was poofy yellow tulle, speckled with black sequins on the bodice. Her hair was done up in a beehive hairdo. Lucan was dressed in a bright yellow suit and black tie to match their theme.
The bride was in the dressing room with her berating mother who was trying to single handedly do her hair.
"Mooooom it hurts! Stop pulling!" Lilly cried.
"Beauty is pain, dear!" Her mother replied while pulling on her hair more. "And don't cry too much- your eyes will turn red."
Lucan was having a less painful time getting ready. He'd just finished tying his tie and was now waiting for his cue to go outside.
"Lucan, I'm proud of you," his dad said with a firm pat on the back. "My little boy is finally growing up. You're a man now."
"I wasn't a man before-?" Lucan questioned.
"Shhh... don't pay attention to that. What matters is that you are going to go out there and have the best wedding of your life!" Alex Muhungo exclaimed.
"And hopefully the only wedding of my life?"
"Yeah, sure, sure."
-----
"Lilly, I need to go check with the florists to make sure they didn't fuck anything up," her mom said before briskly walking out the door. Lilly was left in her dressing room alone. She was touching up her makeup when she heard the door crack slightly.
"Back already?" She asks as she turns her chair around. To her surprise, no one was there.
"Hello...?"
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
"AHHHHH BUG!!!!" Lilly screams. She hops out of her chair and runs to the other side of the room. "GET AWAY GET AWAY!!!"
"Ahh no! Don't be scared! My name is Barry," the voice starts. "Barry B Benson."
"Who said that?!" Lilly shouts.
"Over here!" Says the voice. She darts her head around until her eyes land on a small bee right in front of her. She blinks once.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Her hands dart frantically in an attempt to slap the bug away. "IM NOT CRAZY IM NOT CRAZY!!!!!"
"No! Please don't swat me! That's how my cousin died!" Barry the bee says as he holds up his tiny bee arms.
"Your cousin's a bee?!"
"No my cousin's a bear. OF COURSE HE'S A BEE!"
"Oh yeah, of course. How could I not have guessed? I'm just talking to a bee," Lilly remarks sarcastically. She calms down and climbs off of the dresser she perched on. She smoothes down some loose hairs and fluffs her dress out.
"What did you say your name was again?" She asks.
"Barry B Benson. But my friends call me Barry. And my lovers call me Barry Babe Benson~" The insect says with a smirk.
"Uhhhh okay... I'm just gonna... go over here...." She says as she shuffles to the other side of the room.
"What? Scared of my devilishly good looks?" The bee taunts.
"N-no.... I mean you're a fucking talking bee why would I not be scared?"
"Hmmm good point," Barry replies.
"Sha la la la la la, don't be shy, go on and-" starts a chorus of voices from outside the ajar window.
"NO guys abort mission, abort mission!" Barry whisper-shouts. "Uhh haha don't mind that."
"Was this all just a plan to hit on me before my wedding?" Lilly asks.
"COME ON! Vanessa left me because she says she 'can't date a bee'. I'm lonely! And you look like a bee right now so I thought I'd give it a shot."
They stare at each other for five seconds and then Lilly grabs a magazine, rolls it up, and brings it down hard on Barry's tiny head. He falls to the ground and she steps on him, his body making a crush sound between the hardwood floor and bottom of her stiletto. Right as his last scream fades out, Lilly's mom opens the door.
"I heard screaming, is everything alright?" She asks.
"Oh yeah. It was just a bug," she says.
"Okay well you need to be out there in three minutes. Let's go."
-----
The wedding music begins playing as the maid of honor, Delaney (Lilly's sister), walks out. Along with the decided color palette, the maid of honor and bridesmaids are all wearing yellow dresses with black belts. They slowly walk down the aisle as people look on. Gasps emerge from the crowd as Lilly walks out, her long train trailing behind her as she steps arm in arm with her dad. Tears well up in Lucan's eyes as he sees his bride to be. He loses his breath as they lock eyes. Lilly's face flushes with joy.
It feels like a lifetime of waiting as she makes her way towards the alter. Lucan resists the urge to reach out to her as they stand a foot apart.
"Do you, Lucan Muhungo, take Lilly Sue Bean to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do," he says with a grateful sigh.
"And do you, Lilly Sue Bean, take Lucan-"
"I do!" Lilly exclaims before the priest can get the rest of his words out. Silent laughter breaks out among the crowd as they see the bride's excitement.
"You may now kiss the bride," he finishes. The two share a quick kiss because who really wants to kiss in front of a crowd of people? Cheers erupt as the happy couple walk together down the aisle. Just before they reach the end, the doors burst open.
"YOU TRIED TO KILL ME!" Shouts Barry as he points an accusatory finger at the bride. He looks much worse for wear, hair disheveled and wings torn. Before he can get any more words out, however, Lucan smacks him with his hand and he falls to the floor for the last time. He crushes him under the weight of his heavy shoes and just to insure the poor insect's death, scrapes his foot along the floor, leaving a tiny trail of bee flesh on the ground.
"Don't ask," Lilly says.
"I won't," Lucan assures with a grin.

The end. This is dedicated to out friend Lilly. We love you Lilly, Don't worry this is a joke. And don't worry everyone: Barry is still alive, just not in our oneshot.
Also we changed the last names and first names of the characters except for Lilly's first name. Don't need any spooky shit going on.
