I've known Louis Stone since I was 12 and he's been like my brother ever since. When I met him I was sitting at home watching tv when Bryan walked in.

"Hey Jenny, this is Louis Stone. He's a buddy of mine."

I look up from the tv at them. "Hey, it's nice to meet you!" I say as I reach out to shake his hand which, he firmly takes.

"Hi. You too."

'Damn, he's actually pretty cute.' I thought to myself.

"We're gonna go play the Xbox in my room." Bryan said heading toward the stairs.

"Okay. Have fun!" I said smiling at them.

Later that night

Everyone was sitting at the dinning table getting ready to eat supper when mom spoke up.

"So, Louis, are you staying the night?"

"If that's okay with you ma'am?" He asked shyly.

"Oh honey, you don't have to call me ma'am. You can just call me mom!" She exclaimed. "And of course you can stay the night. I was just making sure!"

After that the table fell silent and we continued to eat. When everyone finished, I collected the dishes and put them in the sink and started dish water when Louis walked in.

"Need any help?" He asked.

"You can rinse and put them in the strainer if you'd like." I said, smiling at him.

"Sure. So, what grade are you in?" He asked as I handed him a dish.

"6th. What about you?"

"9th."

"So you're a grade above Bryan?" I asked.

"Yeah, we actually just met today trying out for the baseball team." He said chuckling.

"I see. So how did it go?"

"Good! We start practice in the morning."

"Well, have fun. I'm gonna sleep in as late as I can." I said laughing as I finished the last plate.

"I would too but my parents made me try out for sports." He said rolling his eyes.

"Well what do you want to do?" I asked as I leaned against the counter.

"Go into the Army. That's the plan after high school anyway."

"I see. Well, thanks for the help with these. You didn't have to."

"I know but I actually enjoyed it. Thanks for the talk."

"Anytime. Goodnight!" I said walking toward the stairs.

When I got to my room I walked in the bathroom, took my makeup off, brushed my teeth, changed into my pjs and crawled in bed. After a few minutes I let sleep consume me.

The next day

I woke up to my alarm blaring in my ear. I reached over and turned it off, got up and went into my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. When I got my clothes I walked into the bathroom and turned my curling wand on and got my make up ready. After I finished my hair and make up I got dressed and ran downstairs.

"Hey mom! Ready to take me to school?" I asked grabbing a piece of toast and taking a bite.

"Actually baby girl, you're gonna have to ask Jimmy to take you today. I'm already late for work."

"Okay. I love you have a great day!" I said kissing her cheek and running upstairs.

I walked into my mom and step dads room and jumped on the bed.

"Wake up dad! I'm late for school!" I said jumping on him.

"Alright give me a few minutes to get changed." He said throwing the blanket off himself.

10 minutes later I was sitting at the table when Jimmy came downstairs.

"Ready to go?" He asked grabbing his keys.

"Yep! Let's go!" I said walking out the door.
