Chapter 8

The next morning I woke up at 9 a.m. I rolled over and seen I had a text from Kacey.

K-Did you make it home?

J-Yes! Sorry, my phone died in the car.

K-Okay sug! Just making sure. Who picked you up?

J-Kayla, Louis' sister. Did you have fun last night with Alan?

K-He was kinda weird. But I definitely had fun!

J-That's good! See you later?

K-Yep!

I put my phone on my nightstand and got dressed for the day. When I got done I went downstairs into the kitchen and was making myself a bowl of cereal when Lacie walked in.

"Hey, sorry about last night. I was sleeping." She said grabbing a box of cereal out of the cabinet.

"You're good. I got a ride."

"Did you have fun?"

"Yes. How was your night?" I asked.

"Good. I was just exhausted so I passed out early."

"I gotcha." I finished my cereal and got up to put my bowl in the sink. "Well, I hope you have a good day. I'll see you tonight."

"You too. See you tonight." She smiled.

I walked up to my room and laid down in bed and started watching Netflix. After a few hours of watching Flash, I turned the tv off and walked downstairs to find Bryan making burgers.

"Hey B!" I said cheerfully.

"Hey. I'm making lunch. You hungry?" He asked flipping a burger.

"No, thanks. I ate earlier." I smiled.

"Anytime. So, what are your plans for today?"

"I'm not sure. Probably just gonna stay home. Nothing else to do in this town." About that time my phone lit up and I reached over and grabbed it.

L-Hey loser.

J-What's up?

L-You and B make up yet?

J-Yeah. We did last night when I got home.

"Who are you texting?" Bryan asked.

"Louis. He was asking if we ever made up." I answered, smiling at my phone.

"Gotcha." He said before walking upstairs.

L-Good. So you're not upset anymore?

J-Nope. I'm good.

L-Good. But I gotta go. Got work I have to do.

J-Okay. Have fun.

L-Always. See you soon.

I locked my phone thinking about his message. 'See you soon'. What did he mean by that?
