{This chapter is for all the Halloween lovers like myself, you know, the crazy ones who always dress up, hand out candy and scare people beyond belief? Yeah, I'm one of those people, lol. Hope you enjoy it.}
(Ember wakes up in a great mood. She's been working things out with her dad and Spike and her couldn't be happier. Soon it was going to Halloween and this was going to Embers first Halloween with Spike and she couldn't wait to show him her costume she got especially made for him in mind. As she got up from her bed, she a funny feeling in the pit of her stomach and she couldn't figure out what it was so she just ignored it and went on getting ready for class. She ran into Spike on the way down the stairs and she saw a look on his face that made look curiously at him.)
Ember- Baby, what's wrong? Do I look bad today?
Spike- Ember, is everything okay? You look different and smell different too.
Ember- I have had a funny feeling in my stomach but I think it might just be an early warning of having the flu.
Spike- I don't think that's it, I think maybe you should go to a doctor and see what's going on, just to make sure.
Ember- I'll be fine babe, I just need to get some flu medicine and I should be fine. (She gave him a reassuring kiss on the cheek but right after she did, he held his hand on her stomach and had a look of shock on his face.) Babe, what's wrong?
Spike- There's something in there... in your belly. You need to got to a doctor right away or maybe Wesley will check you out.
Ember- I am not letting Wesley 'check me out'. I'll call Giles and tell him. (She started to grab her stomach with a look of fear and terror. She wondered what it could be but couldn't come up with an answer.) We need to act like everything is normal okay? I know you're worried and you think I'm not worried but I am. We need to go on as nothing is wrong, I'll go call Giles and he'll come after class is over okay?
Spike- I don't know... I don't want whatever's in there to kill you and turn into a human nummy treat.
Ember- I've been having this feeling for a few weeks now but I kept ignoring because I thought it was nothing.
Spike- You should have told me! We could of had thing problem fixed weeks ago!
Ember- We don't even know what it it yet, so don't go jumping down my throat! (She walked back up the stairs and told Giles to come to the campus after there classes ending after 2:00. Ember walked next to Spike with a not so great fake smile on her face and she could think was 'what it is?'. Class went on and she had to attend a nurses office tour, they went through all the normal illnesses and diseases to be careful for and then they talked about having safe sex with your partners and then it hit her, like a ton of bricks. 'Am I pregnant?', no it couldn't be, she was human and Spike is a vampire, it's just not possible. She didn't want to tell Spike of her idea of what it was and give him false hope of them ever having a child together. After classes ended, Spike and Ember arrived back at the dorms and Giles waiting patiently with Wesley at the door.) Hey guys, I haven't exactly told why I need you guys here but I'm going to tell you know. I think there's something wrong with and I've had this feeling for a few weeks now so I need a to be checked out. I need your help guys, I'm worried about what it is and what it might be doing to me.
Spike- I bet it's some kind of demon that eats her from the inside out.
Ember- Spike!
Wesley- Let's not scare the poor thing.
Giles- Let's just do a simple diagnosing spell and see what we're dealing with.
Ember- Well, let's get going then. (They all walked up the stairs with her. After she unlocked the door, she ran to the bathroom with a sudden feeling about to hurl. She went to bathroom and hurled all of her dinner, she locked the door so poor Spike couldn't comfort her.)
