the next morning arrived with soft light seeping through your window, making your e/c eyes flutter open. you groaned slightly, partly at the harsh light invading your eyes and partly at the fact that it was incredibly cold in your house. as you got up to turn on the heater, your peripheral vision let you know that the leather jacket was still there, the team skull insignia shining proudly in the sunlight. the harsh realization that the offer still stood hit you once again, making you anxious.

you decided to go out into the actual town of route 2, maybe get something to eat for breakfast. picking out an outfit consisting of a tight pair of jeans, a sleeveless ac/dc shirt and a flannel to tie around your waist, you stepped into the bathroom to get to showering. you twisted the dials and water rushed out of the showerhead. cold water hit your hand as you stuck your hand into the shower to test the temperature. the chilly water hit your naked body as you stepped into the shower, making you shiver slightly.

as you showered, you mulled over the things plumeria had said the night before. route 2 was where you were raised, gangs and all. violence, bars on windows, nothing like the quiet suburbs. in po town, if someone stole a clove of garlic, there would be a town-wide manhunt. in route 2, getting things stolen was normal, that's why people had more than one lock on their doors. the graffiti on the walls was preposterous and usually gang related, most of the time marking where one gang's territory ended and the next began.

when you and kukui got together, he began to turn you into the refined, high-strung, girl next door. plumeria knew that you needed to go back to your gang infested, violence-ridden roots. stepping out of the shower, you stared again at yourself in the mirror for a while, trying to pick out any new pimples or blemishes. yiu rubbed lotion into your skin, before looking up at the sound of your front door unlocking.

"plumeria, i told you I would thing about it!" you yelled, wrapping a towel around your nude body and peeking out of the door. in fact, it wasn't plumeria. it was, the man himself, kukui. muttering a quick curse, you remembered he had a house key.

"y/n?" he called making you slam the bathroom door shut. quickly finishing lotioninga and getting dressed, you walked out of the bathroom, only to fing kukui at the bottom of the stairs leading up to your bedroom.

"what the hell are you doing here?" you spat angrily, making your ex flinch.

he walked slowly up the stairs, smiling at you in a friendly manner.

"get out right now, kukui." you pointed back at the door, glaring hard. "before i fucking call the cops."

"there's so need to be rash, darling," he attempted damage control, reaching toward you.

"don't 'darling' me," you exclaimed, storming back to your room. as kukui followed you, you attempted to close the door on him, but it was no use. he was much stronger than you, not to mention taller. "get out of my fucking room, kukui."

as he looked around your, he incidentally saw the jacket you had hung up. kukui turned angrily toward you.

"what the hell is that?" he asked in an angry tone, making you scoff.

"none of your goddamn business." you spat harshly.

"are you seriously gonna stop that low? i know that you're better than this. you're not in a league with those criminals, y/n!" kukui tried to reason with you, only managing to make you angry.

"i'm gonna call the cops if you're not out of that door within two fucking seconds." you yelled, pointing to your phone, which was on the dial screen. "i'm not playing, kukui."

he decided to give up, rushing down the stairs and back to his car. as you watched his car drive away, you packed your jacket into the tote you were taking, fuming. as you locked your door, you could hear the rowdy yells of already drunk gang members. you watched them pass by, sighing when you found that they didn't wear the team skull insignia. empty lots with metal fences surrounding them and graffiti littered, abandoned houses were all you could see as you walked into what the residents of route 2 called 'downtown.' it was hardly anything special, with a generic supermarket, an outlet store, and a couple of strip malls bestowed with tags and gang logo in brightly-colored spray paint. as you walked into one of the family-owned coffee shops, you spotted several members of team skull outside, smoking. you walked in discreetly, tapping your fingers on the strap of your tote bag. one of the men looked at you, smirking slightly. taking a seat by the window, you watched as plumeria approached them, motioning for a joint and lighting one. you turned away, checking your phone. she was laughing happily, but her expression faltered as a man with platinum blond hair stepped out of a car. the all hid their cigarettes behind their backs, straightening their posture and looking fearfully at him. the man was handsome, no doubt in your mind. he had a pouty, moody looking face with a small bandage partly covering a small gash on his face and a black eye. his hair framed his gloomy face perfectly, highlighting his excellent face shape and his eyes. gods, you hadn't noticed his eyes. they were stormy grey, like the alolan sky before a big storm, and one of them was surrounded by a dark bruise. you hadn't noticed that you had been staring at him for long until he looked up from his cronies and sent you a flirtatious wink. you smiled abashedly, looking down at your phone once again. you looked up discreetly, only to see plumeria look back to see you, smiling warmly and pointing at you, soundlessly explaining something. guzma pointed back at you, looking amorously at the dark blush growing on your face.

you looked back at your phone, before jumping slightly at the sound of the door-bell ringing.

and there he was.
