Emily's POV:
I'm standing in the lunch line and thinking about what I want to eat. The food doesn't look too bad. Pizza or fries I think to myself. I decide on fries and sit down. I've made a few friends but they're all doing lunchtime clubs so I just sit down and check my social media on my phone. I text one of my friends from the UK about school and what it was like. I also tell her about Georgie. I turn my phone off and observe the canteen and the people in it. All of a sudden I feel a tap on my back. I hope it's not anyone trying to make fun of me or something like that. I turn around and it's Georgie. We have been getter friendlier lately and been talking quite a lot so that's great!
"Hey can't I sit?" He asks "My friends are in detention"
"Already?" I say in shock.
"Yup"
He sits himself down.
"So how ya doing" Georgie asks.
"Ok I suppose" I reply "You?"
"Good, I'm just annoyed that summers over, ya know?"
"So what have you had for lunch?"
"I've had a pizza" he replies.
"Nice, I had chi- I mean fries"
He laughs with a genuine smile.
"Sorry it's just hard to get used to the way things work around here" I say.
"That's cool." George says "If you want you can come back to my place after school and we can go somewhere? It could help you adjust a bit more"
"That would be great!" I reply.
"Meet me at the bus stop after school and we'll go back together"
"Ok, thanks again" I say.
"No problem" he says with a smile plastered on his face which instantly makes me do the same.
"See ya later" says George as he gets up and goes.
I can't believe this is happening! I can't wait for tonight.
