What happened?

Chapter 3-

Jason's Pov:

"Jason baby, go to the car and get my cell phone please." My mama told me. We were at the adoption center waiting for Ms.Sheppard to bring in the girl she has told us so much about. I am so excited to meet her! I have always wanted a sister! Especially a younger one! "Okay mama. I'll be back." I went out to the car unlocked it and got the phone. While outside I looked at some of the kids looking outside the window. I made some funny faces and they started laughing. I started walking back towards the building and they ran off. I laughed to myself and went back inside. When I went in I saw a girl. I asume that she was Phoebe. She seemed to tense up when my mama mentioned me. I wonder why? I put my hand out to shake hers but she tensed up even more. "I'm sorry. She has a very strong history with guys. It might take her a while to get used to you." I was sorta disappointed that I don't have her trust and that she is afraid of me. I slowly put my hand down and said, "Oh. I'm sorry Phobe. I honestly did not know." I felt bad because I scared her. "It's fine. I'm the one that should be sorry." She said in a very low tone. No one said anything for a while. " "Phoebe honey, you should go eat breakfast." Ms.Sheepard told Phobe. She said something else but I couldn't hear her. Phobe said "Yes ma'am." nodded and walked away. "Okay Ms.Gomez, what do you think?" Ms. Sheppard asked my mama in a way like she was doubting that my mama liked her. "Well Ms.Sheppard I honestly love her to pieces. I would love to adopt her. She seems like a very great yound lady. There is just one thing, what happened in her past? With men?" My mama said with all honesty and concern in her voice. I am wondering the same thing mama. What happened? "Well ma'am, that is something that she is gonna have to tell you herself. I promised her that I would not share that with anyone until she is ready. I am truly sorry but that is personal." Damn it. Well I do understand what she is sayin. I respect that . "Well I would love to adopt her. Where do I sign?" My mama said with the largest smile ever. Yay! I am gonna get a younger sister! Hell Yea! I respect that she will keep the story personal but I will find out what happened. I swear it.
