Jungkook bought a few outfits from the store, at least enough to last his first week back in school. To be honest he was a little scared, considering he had been isolated from any form of education for almost five years, not to mention the lack of social skills he must have now.
It was going to be tough to get comfortable, but Jungkook was a bright kid, he knew that. Surely he would find a way to make himself at home sooner or later.
"Wait, I'm going tomorrow?" Jungkook asked in shock, his eyes widened enough to very well fall out of his head.
"Why not? I mean the faster you get into the year, the better, am I right?"
"W—b-but—I get no preparation at least?" The brown haired boy questioned, utterly baffled. The boy's concerned look and adorable stutter erupted a high giggle from his mom.
"Sweetly, relax. It's just school."
It's not just school if I possibly have a bully.
Jungkook suddenly thought in he back of his mind.Nonetheless, Jungkook let the day pass by, and soon enough he had gone to sleep. It was going to be one tough pill to swallow tomorrow.
Next thing he knew, he was waking up to an alarm clock, that of which scared the shit out of him because he was definitely not used to loud sudden noises.
Soon after he had pressed snooze he heard a knock on his door.
"Jungkookie! I hope you're getting ready for school today!"
Jungkook groaned, "You realize I just woke up, right? Like—literally, just woke up." Jungkook rasped out in his scratchy tired voice.
His mom laughed, "Alright, hun. I'll be downstairs making breakfast."
Jungkook slipped out of bed, reaching for his newly bought clothes folded neatly in the shopping bag that lay atop his dresser. They were still stiff considering the fact that they hadn't had a chance to be broken into.
Jungkook finished getting dressed, trotting his little legs down the stairs to the dining room where his mom stood with a plate of eggs and rice.
Hardy, Jungkook thought, deciding to himself if he would be able to survive his first day of highschool on nothing but an egg.
Nonetheless, the boy finished his plate, before getting in the car and starting on his way to the high school he knew nothing about.
"—and here's your schedule, feel free to ask anyone for help if you need it, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction." The school advisor said down to Jungkook, handing him the paper that showed his classes for the day.
"T-thank you." Jungkook said, his voice unnecessarily shaky. The school advisor must've noticed this, given the look that he received back.
"You know what? As a matter of fact, let me get one of our school's star-students in here to show you around." She said with a smile, making a motion to her office assistant, who quickly caught on before heading out of the office.
"Oh, you really don't have to-"
"Oh no no, I insist! You've been homeschooled since the seventh grade, of course you'll need to be shown the ropes or you'll surely go crazy!" She said with a laugh, a little too 'cheery' for Jungkook's taste. His parents had failed to mention that his 'homeschool studies' was actually called a 'five-year-long slumber'.
"Thank you," the brunette said with a bow, "I appreciate everything you're doing for me."
"Oh, it's no big deal, you're such a sweetheart after all."
The office assistant came back into the room with a very tall student who wore thin-rimmed glasses.
"Oh wonderful, wonderful! The perfect student for the task." The advisor said as she patted his back rather unexpectedly, causing the student to jump.
"Jungkook, this is Namjoon. He will be your school guide today. He's one of the smartest kids in your grade, if not the entire school."
"Hello, it's nice to meet you." Namjoon said with a bow, adjusting his glasses with his long fingers on the way up.
Jungkook smiled back nervously, bowing halfway.
"Shall we? Classes start soon so we better get going if we want to cover everything."
"Oh, r-right." Jungkook nodded. Although his appearance made him look gentle, his facial expression and the way he spoke had made him appear quite intimidating.
"And this is the cafeteria," Namjoon said, gesturing to the big canteen they currently stood in, "the school is quite separated in terms of groups, so some people won't be very thrilled if you sit with them."
He must've seen the way Jungkook shuddered, because he suddenly blurted, "That wasn't meant to scare you, I'm sorry. You can come sit with me and my study group today, there'll be plenty of room for you." He said with a halfhearted smile.
"Thank you, I won't make any trouble, haha." He said, smiling back nervously.
"Oh," Namjoon suddenly rang, "whats your first class? I can take you there to save you some of the trouble."
"Uhh—it's..." the smaller brunette stammered, reaching for the folded schedule packed tightly in his front pocket. "It's English, I think. Yeah—English." Jungkook said as he studied the paper in front of him.
"Enlish...Who?" Namjoon extended.
"Oh, sorry, Mr. Lee."
"Great, we have the same class. Let's go." Namjoon said, placing his hand on the brunette's shoulder as he guided him there.
And so he began his first day of school, completely unaware that his life would be turned on its head.
