The sun from the window pours in like water. It's bright yellow glow spilling onto the floor and up the couch i just happen to be laying on. The bright light reached my closed eyes, and i grimaced.
I slowly cracked my tired eyes open, and was met with said sunlight.
"Fuck.. So bright.. To early." I groan, my voice groggy from sleep.
I reach for my phone on the side table, gripping it with my fingers tightly. I check the time,
10:30 am
I turn it off and groan again.
I missed yet another day of trying to get up early. This was the 4th time in a row i was suppose to be successfully prepared for life, and get to classes on time. Guess that isn't gonna happen.
I flip my blanket off, and stretch out my limbs. A crack and a pop, then me sighing with pleasure. A morning stretch always felt good when i fuck up on my attempts to be better person.
I rise up to my feet, fixing my night shirt since it was riding up to my chest like it always does. I fold my blanket up, and set it aside with my pillow. My mind then reminded me coffee was a thing, and that was now my mission to complete.
The kitchenette in this dorm was not the best, because it was small and the stove never really heated up all the way. So cooking was not a priority i did, but i had other food to eat.
Like that leftover pizza from yesterday for example.
I start to brew some coffee, and get my favorite cup out. It had a little peach on it, with a small quote saying:
"Stay peachy."
It was pretty cute in my opinion, and it was only a dollar so it was a good deal. I munched on some cold pepperoni pizza, while the coffee did its thing.
Im not much of a morning person, as you can tell. Like any other college student here, sleep was a precious thing to me. Didn't matter if i stayed up all night on some essay paper, i would always be sleepy as fuck the next day. I couldn't run without sleep.
Once the most greatest liquid since water was done, i got the creamer from the frigde and poured some into the cup. It was like a white cloud was forming with the black coffee, all swirly and sweet. I put the creamer away and took a sip.
"Oh yes." I say as the sweet liquid goes down my throat. So warm and just enough to make you seem not dead inside.
After some time of me finishing my breakfast, which is totally healthy, twas time for me to get dressed. I checked the time again, and it was already 11 clock.
My classes started at 12, so i had a good hour of getting ready.
*time skip to this story going a wee bit faster*
I looked pretty ok, my favorite peach colored shirt and brown shorts were perfectly fitted on my somewhat curvy body. Even a necklace was on, it was a tiny heart locket. My mom gave it to me before i left for college. I miss her..
I grab my bag and a hair tie just in case, and out the door i go.
My first class was art, the most complicated yet soothing class i have.
I believe were doing watercolor today, my favorite medium. Just the way you use water to smear colorful paint around is nice. And sometimes we get to hang them up in the halls, letting all the new comers see our works. But I've always been self conscious of how i do my art, so i never hung mine up.
I arrived at the class, and i noticed a vending machine right next to it that wasn't there yesterday. Curious, i went to inspect it.
It was full of different kinds of drinks, from water to fizzy. Flavored water and soda, i was actually quite impressed. Then i saw a little pink can. I pressed my face to the glass, and gapped my mouth open.
Peach soda.
