- Saba's POV -
I walk into work early and see Miss Gloria taking down chairs and wiping off the tables. She hears the bell and looks at me.
"Why in the world are you up this fucking early child?" She asked putting her fist with the towel on her hip.
"I could ask you the same thing." I retorted and copied her actions.
"Little girl, don't get smart with me. I'm old. Old people get up at the crack of dawn and go to bed early enough to make a teenager cry." She shook a finger at me and glared. I smiled and laughed. Okay, I admit... she is adorable. "So how was your night?" She asked going back to wiping down tables. I put down my purse and started helping.
"I went to a street fight with Lila." I said taking down a chair.
"Well you little rebel." She smirked. "And here I thought you were some goody goody two shoes." She laughed.
"I went because she kept pestering me." Just as I said that, on que, in walks Lila.
"I kept pestering you because I could tell you need to get out more. Plus I want to be friends and enjoying a street fight together seemed like a good way to break the ice." She smiled and walked past us to put her purse away. Interesting tactic I'll give her that.
"Did you two have fun?" Gloria asked stopping to take a break.
"The King was staring at her and for the first time in underground fighting history, he was caught off gaurd and his opponent got a hit on him." Lila babbled and I felt my body temperature rise.
"He wasn't staring at me! He was just looking our way. There were hundreds of people there. He could have been staring at anyone." I said, irritated. Why would he be staring at me? Me... of all people.
"Who is The King?" Gloria asked, breaking the tention.
"That tattooed guy that walked in here yesterday." I said taking down another chair.
"That sexy walking hunk of man meat was staring at you, and you did nothing!?" She shouted with her hands in on her hips like a disappointed mom. "If I was younger..."
"Gloria, I love you and all, but please don't finish that sentence." She gagged and covered her mouth.
"Oh grow the fuck up. I could surely teach you a thing or two little missy." She snapped at Lila. "If I was your age, I would drain that man dry. I would wear him like a belt. Mm..mm...mm." She hummed.
"Miss Gloria! Oh my god!" I screamed and put my hand over my face. This woman literally has no filter.
"What!?" She screams back making Lila giggle. "You don't have to be jealous Saba, my shit don't work anymore. Been drier than the Sahara desert, so no need to worry about me stealing your man." She winked and laughed. Lila burst out laughing which in turn made me laugh. On that good note, we fixed the cafe up and got to work.
- King's POV -
I walk up to that little cafe I went to yesterday. Hopfully I will see that woman again so I could ask her about the goddess she had with her. I enter and see the place is packed. My eyes immediately scan for that woman but meet a pair of green eyes that make my world flip upside-down.
