- Morning -
- Saba's POV -
Thank god he's a pretty heavy sleeper. I lift his arm that's pinning me down and gently crawl out of bed. After showering and getting dressed, I write him a note and leave it on his beside table. I give him a light kiss and leave.
Walking downstairs I see Noah, Romney and a scary little tattooed man with red eyes. Noah greets me with a hug and Romney just nods. I don't think he likes me much. The red eyed man looks me up and down then holds out his hand.
"Roman." His voice was a lot deeper than I expected coming from such a small guy. I grabbed his hand and shook it.
"Saba." I greeted back. I turned to Noah. "I need a favor." Noah sighed and shook his head.
"Last time I drove you to work without him knowing, King almost murdered the entire house thinking we didn't protect you." I rolled my eyes.
"He's over dramatic and I need you to just drop me off at therapy for an hour and pick me back up. We will be back way before he wakes up." I stick out my bottom lip and give him my sad eyes. Taking too long, I sigh and roll my eyes again. "You know what? Nevermind, I'll walk." I started towards the front door but stopped when Noah's hand grabbed my arm.
"Goddamnit Saba, fine. But I'm warning you now, if I die because of this, I am haunting your ass forever." I giggled and nodded.
"He's not gonna hurt you. You're his best friend." I patted his arm.
"I wouldn't bet on that." He sighed and took out his keys.
*********
Pulling up, I get out of the car and turn back to Noah.
"Just come back in an hour."
"Tell me you're joking?" He shut off the car and got out. "It's bad enough that I drove you here and now you want me to play daredevil by leaving?" He chuckled. "I'll stay in the lobby. I'm not leaving." We walk into the building and he sits down in the waiting room, picking up a magazine. I walk to the front desk and see a woman doing her nails. Smacking and occasionally popping her gum. I could tell she was definitely full of herself. I stand there patiently for a few moments waiting for her to notice me but she just keeps primping herself. I clear my throat and she looks up at me, almost curling her top lip in a disgusted snarl.
"What?" I wanted to say lose the attitude but I took a deep breath and let it go.
"I have a appointment with Dr. Ren." I said calmly as she takes her perfectly manicured finger and types something into the computer.
"Whatever. Just go." She rolled her eyes and went back to her nails. I get into the elevator and head up. I knock on his door and hear a faint, 'Come in.' I walk in and set my purse down on the chair.
"Saba, how nice to see you." He smiled and got up from his desk. I sat down on the couch. "I was thinking you wouldn't come anymore due to your circumstances." Due to my circumstances? He grabs a pen and his notepad, sitting down across from me.
"King is just protective." I waved off his statement.
"He's controlling, manipulative and psychotic. Just a quick diagnosis from what I saw the day he barged in here." He sighed and wrote something down.
