Sitting quietly in a wind blown meadow,
As the day pulls away from her.
She's lying watching everything fly past her into days that are long gone.

She's lying watching as her little city falls apart
Crashing and burning.
Things meant to be locked away have broken loose and run free.

Hero's in her head fight as hard as their body's might let them.
As people watch with intensity and joy and delight.
We created the monsters they are trying to fight, and we create even more anarchy.

She watches, but she is consumed by a man.
A man with sick and twisted thoughts
And seemingly psychotic tendencies.
Love hit her like a freight train and took any defence system she'd had.

A girl who's had hopes and dreams.
Left on an island in the middle of nowhere
While ruins line the reefs.
Pieces of the asylums that used to be.
Pieces of the cells with little reminders of what they used to house.

Vines that would wrap around and crush what they held,
A scarecrow, who failed to keep away best but succeeded in causing nightmares.
An old sledgehammer that'd demolish whatever it touches.
And a warden, who'd ruin lives and just find himself laughing.

Now, there's nothing left,
I've lost my life, and everything I'd ever had.

Burning buildings,
Poisoned water
Crumbling foundation.

This place ruins, and corrupts
It's break you and leave you for dead.
It'll rip your conscious out to let it rot.
So run,
Run as fast as you can, and as far as you can.
