Chapter-6 Burden

Narrator's p.o.v-

Aaron had all day planned out. It was a weekend who he waits for impatiently. Not only he was disappointed but also angry when jenna, best friend of Nicola's joined them after lunch out of no where.

Oh, how he would love to tell that little piece of a mouthy wreck off! He would even pay her to leave them alone. Her non-stop chattering was alone putting him on edge.

If it not for Nicola, he wouldn't be wasting his another precious breathe on that little mouthy minx.

"Nico, you should check out these nail colors. Oh em gee! It's so glittery and shiny you would totally love it." Jenna showed the pictures of beautiful nail arts and colors. Nicola seemed so impressed. She was bobbing her head up and down like a child.

Aaron was sulking down on his seat. They were currently sitting in a cafe. Nicola swept her gaze from the snaps to Aaron who was looking at her intently. His crystal grey eyes never once stray from her face. The brooding look present on his features.

She internally sighed. If she didn't knew any better, Aaron was waiting jenna to leave them alone. The guy has never appreciated jenna, but then again he never appreciates anybody.

"You may go you know! I am sure there are so many places you would want to be other than here. Besides, Nicola is completely safe with me." Jenna noticed the little 'stare' exchange between Aaron and Nicola and she didn't hesitated to put her thoughts into words.

"You have no idea! But Nicola needs a sane person around her every time." Aaron bits out harshly. Nicola nervously shifted on her seat.

"Brilliant, you can take that as a hint." Jenna wiggled her eyebrows at him. Nicola had to stopped her jaw falling to the ground.

Aaron shot jenna a venomous glare. Nicola immediately puts her hand over his. His tensed jaw unclenched a little but his eyes were still shooting fireballs at Jenna's direction.

"It's time for my medicines. Aaron, could you please bring it to me. I must have left them behind in the car." Nicola quickly suggested to Aaron. Since, it was Nicola who asked him to do her chore. He couldn't help but smile a little. He gently grabbed her hand and squeezed a little.

"Sure." Aaron said softly and left to fetch her medicines.

"Jenna,please i told you many times not to push Aaron. He is a short-tempered guy. He takes mocking and friendly teasing to his heart and acts upon his temper." Nicola tiredly explained it to jenna.

"I know, that's why i love to tease him." Jenna quirked her eyebrow while Nicola's mouth got open in shock.

"Don't be surprised, Nic. He won't do anything to me because he is in love with you." Jenna added further.

"No, he is not." Nicola signed firmly.

"Of course you would deny that. But darling that's true. Why do you think he wags his tail and follow you around like a lost puppy all day and night?." Jenna rolled her eyes.

"Because he pity me."

"Oh honey, you're so dense, aren't you? But whatever. I myself don't want you two to get together or else i would be puking my guts out all my life." Jenna scrunched up her nose.

Nicola gulped a little after their little conversation. She didn't want to accept it, she didn't want to acknowledge it even. Aaron's love for her was something she was going to ignore. Heck, she knew it all along but this was something she rather won't talk about openly or not. She can't accept him, she just can't.

"Drew, still third wheeling i see. Old habits die hard." Both Nicola's and Jenna's head snapped up to the direction of taunting voice.

"Says the one who is clearly uninvited and unwanted." Jenna retorted haughtily.

"Darling, I don't need an invite. Consider yourself lucky that i out of all people even talked to you. " Michael too tried to play it cool but his pissed off voice gave him away.

Nicola got tensed when they both glared at each other with rage and hate.

"Stop bickering with each other like kids you two." Aaron soon joined them.

"What is she doing here?." Micheal pointed his index finger at jenna.

"I could ask the same." Jenna gave him a pointed look.

"I called mic to join us. Since you girls are having gala time i thought why not have some less mouthy company for myself too." Aaron wasn't backing down either. As if both the guys have declared the verbal war on jenna.

Nicola felt the need to defend her dear friend.

"Jenna and i decided to go on a shopping. You guys have fun." Nicola had enough of them.

"We will join you girls." Aaron immediately offered.

"No, Aaron you two would get bored out your minds and besides i need something from the store."

"You should not-"

"Stop babysitting her, Walter" Jenna groaned.

"Alright let me handle this. You girls can do your shopping while we check new games at the near by store." Michael advised.

"That would be great." Nicola clearly wasn't in mood to give in to Aaron especially after her stressful session. She wanted to be away from him for sometime and she really wanted to spent time with jenna alone.

"Did you saw his face? That Walter bitch was so pissed off when you told him off." Jenna giggled.

Nicola usually don't approves Jenna's dirty mouth but today she let it go and laughed along.

"Nico, you do know you can always move in with me. I have a well paying job and could look out for both of us. You can start your own teaching sessions for disable children from our place." Said Jenna.

Nicola sighed.

"Jenna i am thinking about it. But it's not that easy. Aaron asked me to run his cafe. He had paid for my expensive surgeries. He is still providing for me. What am i gonna say to him?. How am i going to pay him back?. I don't have all that money yet." Nicola face fell by the second.

"You think too much. I have savings and can easily pay him in installments in few months or within a year. Promise me you will think about it and will move out from his place.?" Jenna asked hopefully.

"You don't have to worry about me jenna. Believe me when i say i have plans for myself. I am not going to stay with him under one roof for the rest of my life. I will move out soon. He has already done enough for me. I am not going to burden him financially anymore." Nicola signed with a smile.

"That's my brave girl." Jenna hugged Nicola tightly.
