"Uh, Aaron? What are you doing here?" She signed.
"Am i not allowed to meet my favorite girl in the world?." He asked cheekily.
"Uhh, do you want to order something?" Nicola tried not to show her discomfort to him.
"The usual." Aaron smiled slightly when Nicola pretended to look somewhere else.
"Ms. Clay, I'll have a cup of espresso with an apple pie." Ms. Dolcy Clay immediately jotted down on the computer screen and gave him his bill receipt with a blush on her cheeks.
"You don't have to pay. It's your cafe anyway." Nicola awkwardly stated. It was Aaron who financially supported her to open this cafe up not only that him and Jenna, best friend of Nicola helped her hire few of the loyal workers to work for her.
Dolcy Clay was her cashier and fluent in sign language.
"For the last time, Chlow. We're partners. Business partners. Moreover you singlehandedly manage this cafe everyday. I couldn't be able to do that if i were you without firing people here and there. You're a blessing to me i mean look at this cafe, all the credit solely goes to you for it's enormous success in such a short amount of time. I just invested a few thousand bucks that's it and that means i am obliged to pay you more. You're a life saviour." Nicola shuddered under his deep stare. Aaron was always bold and smooth with his words. He knows how to win over a person by his silky smooth talking.
Aaron was a businessman and he's phenomenal at that. Nicola knew whatever he just said was utter nonsense. But she chose not to react on it because she also knew how much persistent Aaron can be and he would do anything to make her dance on his tune.
She was trapped in his games. No he doesn't force, bullied or abused her anymore like he used to do when they were still in highschool. Aaron has changed a lot over the years. Aaron has became fluent in his mind games.
He has money and power in his pockets making him one of the most eligible bachelor of New York. Nicola would have easily fallen for him if only she hadn't known him since childhood. Apparently, she couldn't bring herself to forgot all those years of miseries which Aaron had put her through.
Aaron did asked for her forgiveness and he did everything to prove himself that he has indeed became a better man to Nicola but there's still a lingering feeling inside of Nicola's heart which was stopping her to believe in him completely.
Maybe she'll never put her whole faith in him.She has forgiven him but she'll never bring herself to love him.
"You are doomed." Micheal casually jabbed at Aaron who took a seat in front of him.
"Thanks for the reminder!" Aaron replied sarcastically.

"I think we're done for today!" Dolcy yawned slightly breaking Nicola's chain of thoughts.
"Yeah, i guess." Nicola looked around the cafe. It was almost emptied. She glanced at Aaron who was still working on his laptop.
"Mr. Walter is really a patient man. I've never seen such a devoted and kind hearted person who waits without any complain for a girl every single night to drop her home and who happens to be a successful billionaire bachelor. I still can't believe you're his friend. I mean you both are polar opposites from each other. Just look at him working endlessly without even passing a second glance to any of the person and still looking so composed and dominating and you on the other hand are a happy ball of sunshine." Dolcy giggled sheepishly making Nicola fidget on her seat.
"Yeah, he is like that. He insists on dropping me home. He is really a good friend." Signed Nicola politely. Dolcy was one of her loyal and trusted friend and worker but she never really told her about her past.
"He is a keeper." Dolcy sighed blissfully. It was awkward to say yhe least and heartily funny for Nicola to see her cashier crushing hard on Aaron who seemed to be unaware of all the female attention he gets everyday.
Nicola always noticed how almost every women that comes to cafe steal glances at him and giggles. Some even tried to flirt with him but him being delusional self never even spared them a single stare.
Nicola helped dolcy closed and turned all the locks and lights off. She double checks them then made her way outside the cafe. Aaron was already standing casually by his car with his hands inside his pants pockets. Looking like a stern yet laid back authoritative boss.
Once settled inside the car Aaron switched his gaze to Nicola's hand. His stare darken.
"I didn't knew you have started charity without consulting with me?." Aaron's shot a deadly glare to the soiled apron.
"No, actually Odin, the chef has spilled the drink on his apron accidentally. I just offered to wash it for him." Nicola stated.
"Why? Can't he do it himself? Isn't your staff getting too friendlier?" Aaron narrowed his eyes, his tone getting deeper.
"Uhh, It's not like that. My staff treats me with respect. They all are a good people." Nicola didn't like the accusing tone of Aaron so she began to defend her staff members. They were all nothing but respectful and kind to her since day one.
"Chlow, don't be like that. Okay!. It's just you're too good for everyone!" For me especially, he so wanted to add but didn't.
"Just give me this. I'll have it wash for you." Aaron took that cursed apron form Nicola's hand. He noticed how much upset she got. May be his tone was not at all soothing but he couldn't help himself and got all jealous and worked up when he saw that piece of cloth in her hands!.
Why can't she be this generous, caring and loving towards him as well?
