Hey, Fri? What's this?" Peter reached out to brush his fingers along the image of Tony.
*Tap*
"Is this thing on?"
Peter jumps back, but moves back forward out of curiosity.
"Hey Miss Potts. Peter. If you're, if you're um, hearing this," Tony sucked in a breath," Don't, don't feel... bad, about this.
"Part of the journey is the end.
"Food and water ran out... four days ago, oxygen'll run out tomorrow morning. And that'll be it.
"When I drift off... I will dream about you, both of you. Cause it's always you. 
"You meant everything to me.
"My whole... world, was you.
"I wanted you to know that.
"And I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull this one off.
"God... I'm so sorry, Pep. And I'm especially sorry to you, Pete. I let you die. And now I'm not gonna be able to avenge you.
"Just... promise me you'll move on with your lives. Have a good, wonderful, life.
"And most importantly, Avenge the Fallen."
The recording stopped.
Peter breathed hard, trying to figure out what that was.
"Peter, honey?" Pepper's voice came from outside the room. "I know you needed a break, but Morgan is wanting her playmate."
Peter's chest heaved as he tried not to cry.
"Peter? Is everything okay, sweetie?"
Peter doesn't reply. All he hears is Tony's voice. Over and over.
"You meant everything to me."
"When I drift off... I will dream about you."
"Cause it's always you."
"That'll be it."
"My whole world was you."
"Part of the journey is the end."
Peter can't stop the sob the forces it's way out. Or the next, or the one after that. He doesn't realize Pepper had come in until she wraps her arms around him.
"What's wrong, honey?" Her voice is so genuine, so concerned and caring. If it were possible, Peter would've cried harder.
"I know I'm not Tony, but you know you can tell me anything."
All Peter can do is cry. Pepper holds him closer, and they stay like that for a while.
Peter can only hear his mentor, and friend. Even his father.
