Dylan's P O V
"Ah yes. I'd like to get one salted caramel frappe. No whip with caramel no mix."
"Subjectively picky, aren't we?" The barista inquired.
"I guess we could say that." I replied
I sat down at a table close to the ordering counter and waited for my number to be called, 247.
All the while scrolling through my Instagram feed until I was shaken from my peaceful focus by the same barista who had previously taken my order.
"246! Number 246! Your order is ready. 246!" By that time I had thought the point had gotten across and I was growing rather impatient.
By the time "Number 246" had arrived at the counter my drink was prepared and my number was called. Silence consumed us as we both walked to the counter. His arm brushed mine and sent goose bumps across me. I looked up to his face and saw my worst nightmare. If I could only just get my drink and leave without him noticing me, I'd be in the clear. But of course that wouldn't happen, especially with my luck.
"Sorry." He turned to me and said. He stopped once he was at a 120 degree radius and stared right into my eyes. Of course I had redyed my hair and I was no longer a grape, but still. I think my eyes gave me away.
"..Dylan?.." Was all he could manage to utter. I sullenly nodded and reached for my drink. Once in hand, I was walking with drink towards home.
With Calum in tow.
Calum's P.O.V
Her eyes. Even if she had redyed her hair, they would and will always give her away. I could see the history behind them. I had known it was her.
She had grown much paler than the last time I had seen her, and strongly I feared for what had caused it. She looked weaker. Her legs were no longer toned and there was no muscle left on her body it seemed. You could most definatley see her rib cage, even through her baggy tee shirt that I had recognized as mine from highschool.
That T-shirt didn't fit her like it used to.
I was following behind her and something told me not to but I kept in tow with her. I recognized the walk as the one we had always taken from the Starbucks we had just been at everyday after school in highschool. So many great memories were made on this walk. And hopefullyany more would come of it.
If I could change her mind in the present. About all the things in the past. I hopefully would see myself playing a large role in her future.
