SCOTT

We got a call from Lucy the next day saying that she would be more than happy to be our egg donor. Now all we really needed was a surrogate. "I like this one." I said to Mitch.

"I don't know. She has a long history of all sorts of cancer. She could get cancer during the pregnancy for all we know." Mitch smiled up at me from the sheets, and sheets of paper in front of him.

"God. You're such a smart ass. I love it." I leaned down and kissed him. We got a knock on the door.

Mitch got up and went to see who it was. "Hi Kirst! Hi Emerald!"

I went out to see Kirstie. She was standing in the hall with Emerald in her arms. "Hey Kirst." I smiled at her quick and she smiled back, continuing to her conversation with Mitch. I heard Jeremy's name and then Kirstie started crying. I walked over to them and grabbed Emerald so Mitch could comfort Kirst. He pulled her in for a long hug. She was sobbing on Mitch's shoulder.

10 minutes later and Mitch explained to me what happened. Apparently, Jeremy and Kirstie were fighting when Kirstie left. He didn't tell me why they were fighting but that it was to do with Emerald.

 -----------

MITCH

Kirstie and I were talking in my room and she was crying hysterically. I felt so bad for her. She loves Jeremy so much and the thought of losing him devistated her. Not only for Emerald's sake, but for her's as well.

"What if we get a divorce and I lose Emerald? I can't lose both of them, Mitch. I'll be absolutely devistated. I wouldn't know what to do anymore."

"Stop thinking like this, Kirst. Jeremy loves you next to anything. Obviously you guys love Emerald more, but that's why you guys will come back to each other."

"You really think so, Mitchie?"

"I know so." She smiled at me then gave me a big hug.

"I love you, Mitchie."

"I love you too, Kirstie."

An hour later, Kirstie was passed out on my bed. Scott was holding Emerald on the couch. She had fallen asleep on his chest. "You're gunna be such an amazing father." He looked down at her sleeping.

"I suppose." He smirked at me then winked.

"It's true, Scotty. You're amazing with kids. Look at you. You put a 4 month old baby to sleep without even trying."

"You'll be a great father too. The best. Better than me. You'll sing our baby to sleep with your angel-like voice. He'll love you so much."

"He'll?"

"Sorry. I really want a boy."

"Me too. If we have a girl, I will love her anyway of course, but will actually be a little disappointed on the deep inside. But I guess we'll just keep trying till we have a boy, huh?"

"I suppose we'll do that then." We kissed slowly and Jeremy barged in the door.

"Where's Kirstie?"

"She's asleep in my room." I pointed to the door in front of me. He walked in and I heard Kirstie and him talking.

About 30 minutes later, Emerald woke up and Kirstie came out of my room with Jeremy. "We're good." She smiled wide and Jeremy lifted her hand up to kiss it lightly.

He leaned over to her and whispered 'I love you' in her ear. She smiled at him and mouthed 'I love you too'

"Get out of here you two love birds." I had Emerald in my arms, craddling her in the most precious way. Scott rubbed her head and took her out of my hands to hug her.

"You guys are gunna be such amazing dads."

"Thanks, Kirst." We smiled at her as she took Emerald back. Her and Jeremy left quickly. They were going out as a family to do something special.

---------------6 Months Later-------------

Today we were getting April, our amazing surrogate, a check up. We were officially pregnant and couldn't be more excited.

"Baby is doing great." The doctor said to us rubbing the wand on April's belly. She was barely showing but you could still tell.

"How far along am I now?" April asked.

I already knew the answer because I was secretly keeping track on my calendar at home. "You're about 9 weeks. About 1 month and a week. So, about 8-9 months left." The kind doctor smiled wide at April and she chuckled.

She cleaned April off and turned to Scott and I. "Do you guys want a picture of your baby?" I nodded my head at her and she smiled then turned around to the machine. She held a black and white picture in her right hand and finished cleaning April up with her left. "Here you go." She handed me the picture of our baby. Scott and I's baby.

When I got home, I put the baby picture in an empty frame I had lying around. I put the frame on a shelf we had in the living room. "Beautiful, baby." Scott came up behind me and put his arms aroud my waist.

"Isn't it?"
