I heard the loud horn honking annoyingly outside, and rolled my eyes, grabbing my bags. I walked outside, and stared in shock at the limo waiting for me. The limo driver held the door open for me, and asked,"Is everything alright, Miss?" I blinked, realising I had stared way too long at the car, and nodded. "Fine, thank you..I've just never seen one of these up close." He muttered something that sounded oddly like,"No, I imagine you wouldn't", and shut the door behind me, as I climbed inside. My eyes widened at the vigorous amount of candy spread out in front of me, and I immediately dug in, eating every piece of dark chocolate in sight, then jumped a bit, as the golden bridge to Auradon soon spread out across the water. I watched the Isle fade into the background silently, then gazed down into the chrystal blue waves beneath the limo, the speed at which we moved turning it into an almost smooth surface, like marble. I turned my gaze to the front of the car, a bit in awe, as the golden gates of Auradon Prep swung open, and the castle stood out against the bright blue sky. The car came to a sudden stop, and I saw a small crowd of people waiting for me outside, my heart speeding up with anxiety. The driver opened the door, and I cautiously got out, hefting my bags over my shoulder. My eyes landed on familiar blue hair, and the most gorgeous girl in the world, who used to be my best friend, slowly turned to a dark skinned Asian boy, her face filled with shock. I slowly smiled, and said,"Well, well, a warm welcome from old friends. How..Nice."

Jay glared at me, and said,"Nice? For who?" Evie whispered,"Be nice, Jay." She looked me up and down, and said,"Love the hair..It suits you." I frowned a bit, and said,"Blue has always been my favorite color, Evie. You know that..Or have you forgotten?" Her smile faded a bit, and Carlos laughed nervously, stepping in front of them. "Uh, hey, Hecate! Nice to see you again! Digging the new look, by the way.." I said,"Wish I could say the same, but since you three are here, I suppose my-" A familiar voice, laced with sarcasm interrupted,"Well, well, if it isn't my sister.. What skeletons did you have to dig out of your closet to get sent here?" My fist tightened around the strap of my backpack, and I said,"That's my secret, Mal. And the thing about skeletons? They don't always stay buried. As I'm sure you know by now, Princess." She took a step towards me, her eyes glowing green, and a blonde haired boy with handsome features held her back, laughing awkwardly. He said,"Welcome to Auradon, Hecate! I, uh...I can assure you it's a lot nicer than the Underworld, and the Isle..But if you want, we could..Hang some skeletons in your room." I said sarcastically,"Nice one..You must be King Ben, son of Beast and Belle." He nodded, and held out his hand. I stuck out mine, and shook his hand, smirking moments later, as he yanked his hand away, wincing. "That's quite a..Fiery handshake you've got." Mal glared at me, and Ben looked at Evie. "If you don't mind, could you help Hecate find her room, Evie?" Evie swallowed hard, and walked towards me, whispering,"Follow me", before walking inside the castle. I followed her, the inside of the castle honestly not impressing me that much, with its high ceiling, staircases, and plush carpets. I followed Evie down a long hallway, and she nervously stopped in front of a door. She said,"This is it..Uh, Jay and Carlos are down the hall on the right, and..Mal and I are right next door if you need anything." I nodded, kicking the door open, and threw my bags on the floor, gazing with horror at the frilly curtains, pink walls, and plushy pink colored bed.

Evie said,"It's really nice, isn't it?" I looked at her, and raised an eyebrow. "Wow..I guess you have forgotten about me. This looks like Aphrodite's living room. Totally not my style." She sighed, and said,"Right. Darkness, gloom, chains, and skeletons. I'll have to remember that from now on." It took me a minute, then I realised she was being sarcastic. I said,"You know, you can leave. No one's forcing you to watch me redecorate, Evie." She replied,"Fine", and walked away, leaving me alone. I slammed the door, and felt a bit hurt. The VKs still hated me, even my own sister. I liked being feared, as it was in my blood, but being hated and alone wasn't my favorite thing. I shook the thoughts out of my head, and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I whispered,"Let all that makes me turn away, turn to darkness, and decay." I opened my eyes, and smiled, as I saw the curtains were now black, the walls were black with blue trim, and skulls decorated almost every available surface. The carpet was dark blue, and chains dangled down from the top of my bed, creating a sort of curtain. I began unpacking, shoving clothes into dresser drawers, and other items where they belonged. My eyes widened, as I saw a stereo system in the corner of the room, and said,"No fucking way!" I raced over to it, and connected my phone, instantly feeling more at home, as Metallica started blasting through the speakers, shaking the walls.

My smile slowly faded, as I thought about what I had been sent there to do, and felt Kronos heat up against my neck, anticipating the souls I would soon feed him. "All of this I could have had on the Isle, but they betrayed me and my father. They'll pay for that. Tomorrow, I begin..For tonight, I'll rest.."
I climbed into my bed, and swallowed hard, all my anger and hatred fading, as the silence inside the room reminded me I was alone. I dimly wondered what Evie and Mal were up to next door, and sighed. "Why can't I just sleep already? Thinking about things that will never be mine is pointless..Especially when wanting what I can't have drove my friends from me. All it took was three simple words to Evie, and they left me.." My anger came back quickly, ignited by the hurt in my heart, and I turned over, trying hard to keep myself from lighting the bed on fire. I closed my eyes, my hatred for the three words that destroyed any happiness I once had driving me into sleep, m mind filled with dreams of revenge and breaking my curse..
