I couldn't help but sigh in relief as I see land appear in my window. "We are now landing, please buckle your seatbelts~" The deep voice of our pilot asks, reawakening the baby in the seat behind me. Yet, as the child screams in aggravation, things seem to be looking up. This is my first audition... and it's exclusive, meaning whoever it was wants ME, Alice Beamer!

I doubt any actor or actress just starting out like I am wouldn't be excited.

Soon the plane lands, and another announcement tells everyone it's time to get off. I stand up, stretching backwards with a groan as I follow the man who was originally to my right. The stewardess thanks us as we walk off the plane, and I make my way straight to the luggage area.

I watch the luggage circulate for a minute before noticing my luggage. There's no mistaking it, I'd doubt anyone else has written on their suitcase as much as I have. Still, when I walk over and grab it, I check inside for my things. Sure enough, it's all there, including the scripts I had meant to read before all this. I zip it closed, pulling the handle and waiting for the other piece. This took a few minutes more, but a large carry on with my name literally on it soon appeared. I take it and leave, heading straight towards the exit.

While walking down that long hall, I hear a squeal from behind me gradually becoming louder. I don't stop, pretending I hadn't noticed. It's not that it's annoying, it's just that she likes it better when she surprises me.

Eventually, from within the crowd, Naomi jumped out and hugged me. "Hey Alice!! It's been a while!" She yelled and I couldn't help but sigh. "It's only been a couple of weeks." I tell her, but I hugged back anyways, smiling like a dork. This is her normal behavior, and I can't say I don't love her for it. We've been best friends since freshman year in college, but I feel like I've known her forever.

Naomi just laughs my comment off, like usual, and let's go just to stand in front of me. I noticed that she's actually in formal attire, which looks oddly fitting on this frizzy haired girl. "This is new. Are you going to some meeting after this?" I joke, and she shakes her head.

"Actually, I was hoping to surprise you. But... Well, my surprise bailed out last minute, so now I just look overdressed." She responds, making me curious. I couldn't help but wonder what she had planned, but I know it's pointless to ask.

Naomi glances me up and down before asking "Anyways, you look tired. When we get back to the apartment, do you want to go ahead and nap or...?"

I shrug, responding, "I'll be fine, I had a couple energy shots just before the plane landed."

She gave me an excited nod, about to respond before an unfamiliar voice greeted her from within the crowd. The man's voice made me jump a little as he spoke, "Hey, Naomi, sorry I'm late. I just had to finish a script for the show."

The black haired man pauses to look at me and half-smiles. "Oh, this must be Alice. I've heard amazing things about you." He greeted, offering his hand "I'm Alexander Fulbuster, but please, just call me Ale." Awkwardly, I slowly nod, offering my hand.

"Uhm... Nice to meet you." I respond, deciding to wait for Naomi to decide to explain whatever this was.

"You told me you were too busy!" Naomi accused Ale, hitting his shoulder in an annoyed manner.

I giggle at the relationship they seem to have, before Alice informs me that he's the writer and director for the show I'm trying out for, and her 'orphanage brother'. Now I see why he wanted me...

For the rest of the otherwise delightful evening, I had to withhold myself from lecturing Naomi about the implications of using familial connections. Even if no one could actually prove their bond without a warrant, it was still wrong in my opinion. Besides, if word got out about how I got the role, proof wouldn't matter to any gossip mags.

As the day ended, I found myself in front of my new apartment room, waving bye to Ale for the time being. I'd have to see him in the morning, but I had the time I needed.

I sigh softly, turning my attention to Naomi with a soft glare as soon as he was out of view. She looked a little surprised by it, as if she didn't expect my annoyed reaction. "Naomi... You know how well things like this go over, right?" I ask quietly, huffing.

Naomi shook her head, shrugging. "Actually, neither of you are even popular. No one will care." She responds "Besides, I never asked him. He asked me."

I sigh softly. She's right... I guess I should stop being paranoid. "Alright, sorry..." I apologise, following her in once she unlocks the door to the apartment.
