TW/CW: Implications of attempted physical harm. (Attempt to grab hair to hold head still/close) It's for a small paragraph but will quickly be stopped by outside forces. If this type of stuff bothers you, I'll put a small warning beforehand so you can avoid it if you wish!

Your POV
We sat in our room, just looking at whatever sat in front of us. We were finally in our real room, in our actual world. Yet just as quick as we were able to crawl through that door, the remembrance of why I left in the first place hit me when we came back.
As crazy as it felt, I miss being there. The fantasy. The good one at least.
I thought coming back home would've been great, but it just felt like nothing even changed. When we finally met back with our parents, Coraline's just gave a small little worried talk to her and scolded her for scaring them like that, but it wasn't too extravagant.
Mine, however, didn't even notice I was gone. Since I was quiet all the time and hated being around them, they just figured I was doing a great job at avoiding them for the better part of 2 weeks. It hurt to an extent, to say the least.
Letting out a sigh, I looked out the window and thought of everything.
"Do you think it was the right choice coming back?" I suddenly asked.
"It depends on what you want. But I think so." She said, glancing over at me.
"In one sense, it was because we got away from the Beldam, who was going to eat us. But on the other hand, we would've stayed with parents who cared. Or at least pretended to. Unlike ours." I answered, tilting my head forward a bit.
"Well... The Beldam was gonna eat us and turn us into ghost children. Then we wouldn't have anyone but the ghost children to care." Coraline reminded.
I nodded, giving her a brief smile.
"Yeah. I'd rather be alive than eaten for wanting something." I admitted. She simply nodded.
"Yeah, you're right... And (Y/n)?" She asked.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks... For helping get us out of there." She said. I smiled softly, nodding.
"Of course. But I couldn't have done it alone. Without you, or even Wybie, I don't know what I would've done if I found myself there alone." I said.
"Probably stayed with the Other Mother," Coraline said with a laugh. I laughed a bit too but felt my heart squeeze at the thought. Deep down, I know I would've stayed. To avoid coming back to my parents. It feels awful knowing this, but...
Sighing, I tried thinking of something else.
"Does that mean we get pizza and soda twice?" I asked hopefully.
"Of course you'd ask that," Coraline said with a laugh.
"What? We deserve it after escaping that place more than once!" I defended. Smiling, she shook her head and sighed.
"Fine. Last time though!" She said.
"Okay, last time!" I agreed with a smile. Wybie smiled and shook his head, and I smiled at him in return.
"At least this time we have Wybie to incorporate into it!"

"Hey mom, we're going to town to get some pizza, okay?" Coraline called out.
"Okay! Just make sure to stay safe and bring your coat in case it gets chilly!" Her mom responded. I stopped for a brief moment and smiled a bit. It was just a small reminder, but it was enough to tell us she cared enough to listen to tell us that. Baby steps.
