Imagine This...

Imagine you're sitting on a world separate from earth.

This world is your brain.

Now imagine that this world is filled with flowers.

Now imagine that you're in an eight-foot wide circle where the flowers don't grow.

But everything outside the circle is grey.

Now imagine that on earth you can see that one person standing on the surface.

The person you can always trust and turn to.

They are grey.

Now imagine that no matter how loud and hard you scream their name they can't hear you.

Now imagine that every time you try and call out black spikes grow in your circle.

Every time you cry.

Every time you're angry.

Every time you scream.

The spikes grow larger.

The spikes are your pain and fear.

Now close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Stand up.

Step over those spikes.

It may hurt but if you keep going you will get through it.

Now imagine you are past the spikes, past the pain.

Now walk past the circle and step into the flowers.

Now imagine that everything that was grey is now colourful and bright.

Now call out that person's name.

Notice that this time they can hear you.

Now watch them turn to you and a smile spread across their face.

Imagine looking around and seeing all the family and friends you never noticed before turn bright and colourful.

Imagine all of them walking towards you.

Now imagine they give you a great, big hug.

And now imagine they have made an aisle way for your one person to walk through.

Now imagine hugging them and all that pain, fear and anger disappear.

Every day you will appear in that eight-foot circle.

And every day you will have to fight past all that pain, fear and anger.

But just remember when all that is done, and the day is finished...

You get the best hug you could ever ask for from that one person.

And remember they are always there for you.

You just have to talk a little louder.
