Once upon another terrible day of having to socialize with people, modeling shots and that ugly creep named Terry, more like Scary, I had experienced something that definitely impacted my life and happiness.
Heading home after school, I never spoke to anyone because they all scare me. Like everyone. My father pursued me into modeling for his sports brand and fashion, which was a job I hated, so sometimes I went to a horrible studio that takes all of these crusty faces on the wall, including the new loser who transferred here. And his merchandise is so scary that it's trash.
"Father, can I go home now?" I complained.
"Once you get your last photo, you're done." He replied.
"Fine." The photographer took the photo as I faked my smile.
"And you're done for today!" Thank god I'm done with this forced crap.
As we went home, I blocked my ears from a car honk. In my room, I noticed my two younger brothers trashing it with toilet paper and egging the window with plastic Easter eggs.
"What's wrong with you both?" I screamed angrily.
"Uh, nothing." One of them, a 3 year old named Wayhem defended.
"We were just having fun, big brother!" My 6 year old brother named Ashkii added.
"GET OUT OF MY ROOM IDIOTS! CAN'T YOU GUYS EVEN READ THE SIGN?" They both chickened out of my room like stupid idiots. Siblings are like annoying distractions that'll make you suffer for the rest of your life. Trust me, they do.
Then, while my family is sleeping, I cleaned up that hideous mess and slammed the door shut. I dressed up as a funny looking disguise, which I call "Pedro" and rolled out of the window, jumping out and finding out that a teenage girl was shivering in the middle of the corner. I accidentally dropped my oversized jacket as I found a piece of paper next to her. The paper wrote:
MEET ME AT THE RAINSHINE CASTLE TONIGHT.
Soon, the teen dashed away with my jacket.
"Hey! My jacket!" I insulted, as I chased her down. She disappeared so I couldn't find her. But as I looked for a mysterious looking fairytale castle, it was WAY brighter than my future. I went there, only to have a gray ghost in the shape of a person appearing in my view.
"Greetings young man!" The creature introduced.
"Who even are you? I found that location, only for you to find me?"
"Are you looking for this?" It held up a jacket I recognized, and it was mine.
"HOW COULD YOU? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?"
"You're the chosen one. Now follow me!" I sighed and went inside, frowning. The ghost opened a box of treasures, but only to see that several of the elements have been taken. I snatched the earmuffs and the winter gloves without thinking because I've wanted to be an ice skater when I grow up, not a stupid looking model.
"Will this make me an ice skater?" I asked, but a cyan glowing polar bear came out of the winter gear.
"Ugh, don't use me!" The bear complained in grief, rolling its eyes. "And are you my holder? And who are you?"
"Deron." I faked petting the bear, wearing the gear.
"Jack." The bear had an uncomfortable face.
"Your magical transformation words are 'Mythical Spirits, begin the story!'"
I repeated the words with sarcasm, eventually transforming into a yeti polar bear-themed superhero with my hair changed to a white side shave cut, a snowflake gem on my forehead with a coat and jeans topped with fuzzy leg warmers and magical boots that pull the pompom string to change your shoes.
"What? That's it?" I tightened one of my hands, creating an ice sculpture when I didn't mean to.
"Watch out, Snow Frost! Your power is to freeze anyone and maneuver any surfaces with your shoes. They can turn into ice skates, skiing boards, climbing shoes and much more."
"That's cool, but will it wear off?"
"Yes, at midnight. So try to cover yourself from anyone else because you have to keep your identity private."
"What if I don't?"
"Then you'll be in danger. Darkbird will definitely know who you are."
"Okay, later!" I went out and found four glowing children in a lake. A mermaid swam underwater while a dragon and a fairy played while flying. The rabbit antelope girl practiced her speed running as I yanked my shoelace from my boot, turning it into ice skates, touched the water, and accidentally froze a small section of the lake.
"What's going on?" The mermaid asked. "Are you a new spirit?"
"Sorry." I hesitated as my teeth shiver, backing away.
"Welcome to the squad!" The fairy greeted.
"Thanks, call me Snow Frost. Are y'all Prairina, Flamegon, Merfish and Jackalope?"
"You've got them all correct! Now where's that bird?" Jackalope the bunny girl extended her baton.
"Seems that I see no sign of Darkbird. Maybe it's not a fight today." Flamegon the dragon boy explained. "But even in unnecessary times, we had to stick to our roles everyday. And Snow, are you gonna practice your new powers on a lake?" He turned around to Prairina and started flirting with her as she still gives an awkward tone back to him.
"Yep, that's what I'm here for!" I skated and froze half of the lake Merfish is swimming in. Merfish got out of the lake, with her tail split into two legs. "Be careful on what you're using those skates for, don't try to ruin where I'm swimming." She warned to me for her safety as Flamegon slashes his sword over the ice pond I created and soon as fast as the fire melted the ice, I yanked my pompom again to convert the skates into water skis. While we had fun partying and messing with our powers, Darkbird spotted where we were, ruining all of the happiness we enjoyed. Every last bit of it.
"You ungrateful little spirits! You had too much fun so I'll give you too much fear!" He swung his scythe in the air, only for all of us to fight back. I changed my shoes back at the moment when Jackalope ran away like a speedster, her feet pouncing on the stiff road. Flamegon and Prairina flew over, defending themselves with their magic weapons. Merfish and I eventually joined Jackalope as the bird in a black hood flew lower. We continued fighting and throwing magic all night until Merfish reflected back one of Darkbird's curses, defeating him completely. Darkbird's scythe flew in the air, and with my gloves, I froze the scythe with ice and snapped it in half. After that, we congratulated with grabbing one of each other's wrists in unity, shouting, "When the darkness went away, Team Spirits, we saved the day!" Just when our jewelry started beeping for the one minute warning, we said goodbye and went our own ways. Finally, when my feet land on my room, I transformed back and thought, Well, today isn't that bad after all, but I still have to face another day being pushed to perfection and talking to random faces, which is what I've always hated.
