Just to not let you get confused, loves!

"I think you should take this." My sister said pointing at my phone next to me, making me turn my head towards it.

Connor.

"Do I really have to talk right now?" I whined taking it in my hand. "What if I decline?"

"Don't you think he at least needs to know the truth, Lucy?"

"The truth?! I can't tell him that Shawn likes me! It would ruin their friendship!" I practically yelled, waiting for her to agree with me.

"So you're gonna lie?" She asked raising one of her eyebrows.

"Not telling the truth isn't lying." I said pointing my finger at her.

"Try to convince yourself." She mumbled getting up and leaving me alone.

"Hey!" I said accepting the call, trying to sound as happy as possible.

"Baby?"

"Connor?" I mumbled back, closing my eyes to ignore the tears that started forming in my eyes once again.

"How are you doing?"

"Nothing special, just spending some time with my sister." I soon realized after a short silence that I couldn't keep on going with the sobs that wanted to leave my mouth nonstop now, so I decided to take it as short as possible. "What did you want to say?"

"I thought we could do something this evening, you know, last night wasn't fun at all." He took a deep breath. "Are you free?"

I thought about it for a few seconds, trying to figure out if I could do this. Lying when looking directly into his eyes. When he is taking my hand in his. When he is leaning in to give me a soft kiss on my lips...

No.

"I-I'm not. We will go shopping."

"Oh."

"I gotta go now, Con. Talk to you later." I mumbled taking the phone away from my ear a little.

"Love you."

And that was it. I finished the call without thinking twice, without saying 'I love you too.'

SHAWN'S POV
"I'm going out!" I yelled into the living room, getting a little surprised as I couldn't see Brian in there.

"To where?" He asked walking down the stairs with a towel wrapped around his waist, a confused look covering his face.

"You're really asking?" I said a smirk forming my lips, eyebrows lifting their self up playfully.

"Shawn, we saw what you did the last time you got drunk. I don't think it's a go-"

"See you later!" I interrupted him, closing the door behind. There was no need to start an argument when I wasn't going to listen to him anyways.
